Are troops the answer?

The US Military are sending 5200 troops to secure the border with Mexico. They will be added to the 2000 National Guard troops that are already there.
It is estimated up to 10 000 migrants are making their way to the US border to seek asylum.
Over 7000 Troops.
Mr Trump said, "This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you."
I believe the US Courts will allow the migrants to apply for asylum. The process, with so many numbers will be drawn out for as long as possible. Years in fact. (As has happened to the asylum seekers detained on Nauru by the Australian Government. Some have been there for more than 5 years. Australia said,they will not be allowed to settle in Australia.)
The South American migrants will either be kept on the Mexican side of the border or be herded into "Secure Camps" on the US side.

Good analysis. And it's clear you know what a refugee is. It's also clear our President doesn't. Or, at least, he knows it's way too nuanced for his base in advance of an election. Gotta' scare 'em. That's how you keep screwing them.

They'll be kept on the Mexican side. However, mexican resources are stretched out from the many Africans and cubans that arrive daily. It would be nice if the u.s. helped them by giving mexican organizations money so that they could build housing and give them food. But they wont. So there they will starve and slowly die, or go home.

@SW-User What is happening now is the Mexican civilians are supplying the migrants with food etc. The migrants are making make shift camps in the small communities as they pass through.The migrants are being treated with compassion by the general population.

@Gusman The Mexican border towns are overstretched in terms of resources. Too many immigrants and too little money have broken down the safety nets for immigrants in the border towns. People are nicer in small towns, they won't be so nice in the border towns.

Why can not the world for once combine and do some good?
A lot of these migrants are escaping widespread gang violence and poverty. Criminals have extorted Hondurans into paying a "war tax" for their survival. Meaning those who can't pay are often killed.

@TheProphet That won't happen. Those who do manage to get through will be rounded up and held in camps. In my opinion.
Unless there is a mass stampede, if thousands storm the border at once then chaos will ensue.
