I think I might have said my German was better than it really was but it was irrelevant because it wasn't important to most companies I applied to anyway.

Not lying, exaggerating hell yeah. That’s how I now ended up in finance on manager level, even though I just have a highschool diploma in administration, and I’m still learning every day.

The best advice someone ever wrote somewhere was to apply for a job you have about 60-70% of the qualifications and skills for, and you learn the rest on the job. That’s also how you get to grow. A job you already know how to do entirely won’t teach you much.
