I would love to be an antiques dealer but lack the level of knowledge
required.

What about you?
Bratt · F
@AntisocialTroll Votes of confidence are a blessing.❤️

May I ask what's keeping you you from jumping in to the antiques biz? Might experience of that nature just be a matter of time?
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@Bratt I would need to live near enough to an auction house to gain the knowledge I need, I've looked into doing just that but the average auction house is in really shitty areas and the high end auction houses I'd never be able to afford rent in that kinda area.

I do trawl ebay and etsy for treasure and sometimes get it right but without being able to see and feel the objects first hand I'm at a major disadvantage both from the fakes that abound and from reproductions as well as not having a broad enough antiques knowledge base to start with.
Bratt · F
@AntisocialTroll Ahhh... I see. I don't have much life experience... But I've found that obstacles can sometimes be an advantage. I'm gonna simply keep hoping your eBay/etsy treasure hunt hits gold. ❤️

Housewife. 😅

I'm only good doing chores.
@iamelijah ? It was an encouragement, not a slap: I bet you are good at much more than just "doing chores"...but if you don't like being encouraged, I can easily fix that, too...
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@SomeMichGuy Idk but people around me looked at me a like a fragile person is about to break. Instead looking too much in other things I am good with, I stick with something I comfortable with.

I tried to prove my potential but it always end miserably. Whether I bit more than I can chew or I am really not good at all.

Usually, my overconfidence kills me and my humble traits diminish me. Either way, both of things I do always a mess.
@iamelijah Well, if you are self-aware enough to know that your overconfidence gets in the way of your success...just keep an eye on that, and go forth, try something, and...succeed, like you KNOW, deep inside you, you can.

Humility is not a bad thing, but you sometimes have to remind people of what you have done, etc., in order to get new opportunities (moderate tooting of one's own horn is not being pushy).

It sounds as though you are poised for something new to be a wonderful, successful thing. Don't be afraid to "pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again"...

Do not give up on yourself.

Haven’t in a while, but yes. @Bratt
Bratt · F
@Chevy454 Very cool. I keep one by my bed. Not completely sure I'd actually be able to use it on an intruder... But I keep a long sock on it in case they tried to take it from me.
