I would love to be an antiques dealer but lack the level of knowledge
required.

What about you?

@AntisocialTroll Wow... That sounds cool. I'm a social Psychology major. I hope to find a career in child protection.

@Bratt I suspect you'd be very good at it, tis a helluva tough job though so don't forget to look after you too...

@AntisocialTroll Votes of confidence are a blessing.❤️

May I ask what's keeping you you from jumping in to the antiques biz? Might experience of that nature just be a matter of time?
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@Bratt I would need to live near enough to an auction house to gain the knowledge I need, I've looked into doing just that but the average auction house is in really shitty areas and the high end auction houses I'd never be able to afford rent in that kinda area.

I do trawl ebay and etsy for treasure and sometimes get it right but without being able to see and feel the objects first hand I'm at a major disadvantage both from the fakes that abound and from reproductions as well as not having a broad enough antiques knowledge base to start with.

@AntisocialTroll Ahhh... I see. I don't have much life experience... But I've found that obstacles can sometimes be an advantage. I'm gonna simply keep hoping your eBay/etsy treasure hunt hits gold. ❤️
