Have you ever had a paranormal experience?

I'd love to hear about it
4meAndyou · F
I had to go through the cellar with our groceries from the parking area, climb the stairs while loaded down like a pack animal, find my keys and get them into the lock on the cellar door, and I would be right in the kitchen to unload.

I always felt like there was something watching me from the corner of the room. It was always creepy feeling down there.

ONE day, I got half way up the stairs and the cellar light went out. I made my way up the stairs in the dark, got the door open in the dark, and got rid of the groceries as quickly as I could. I decided the bulb must be loose, or ready to burn out, because I went to turn on the light and it went right back on.

I went downstairs and set up the ladder, and found that the bulb was loose. I tightened it in the socket, and tested it several times, (it worked normally), then I put the ladder away and climbed back up the stairs.

I was JUST about to turn out the light...didn't even touch the switch...when the light went out all by itself.

@Ihatetheworld He looked all black in the center, and had a huge chest and a deep narrow waist. All round the edges it looked as though he was outlined in a strip of darkness with tiny pinpricks of colored light inside.

@4meAndyou the first I saw looked like a person to me but obviously dead I had looked over when I felt a pressure on my bed

The other was like you described a huge black mass but it was very tall almost to the ceiling

@Ihatetheworld That's what this one was like...very tall....but you could see details like the outline of his nose, which was jutting, and a jutting chin.
I experienced one. Nothing else in life indicates the paranormal exists and I don't believe in such things, conspiracies or aliens. But one night a long time ago has never made sense to me and has haunted me in a way. I just got whole body goosebumps writing this sentence, as I always do when I think of what happened.

As a teenager, about 6 of us were going to pitch a tent and hang out at a small campground on the edge of town, a suburb. For a number of us kids, a large back parking lot of a fast food burger joint was hang-out central.

I just happened to talk to a guy who was kind of new and told him of our plans. He said something spooky (this was many years ago and I forgot the exact words) was going to happen that night. He said he had been involved in the occult down in Florida and his dad moved them to Indiana to get him away from it.

So, this is strange, but I didn't think a whole lot of it at the time. I didn't believe in things like that, anyway.

We get to the campsite, set up, gather some wood and build a fire. We sit around drinking, smoking pot, listening to music and talking.

Sometime in the early morning hours, still dark, we needed more firewood. One guy had fallen asleep on a sleeping bag so the five of us went into the woods and ended up wandering about and exploring.

We stopped where a really big old tree had fallen and sat on it, talking specifically how spiritual nature was. One guy wasn't in the conversation, but was laying on the big tree trunk.

(to be continued)

Ihatetheworld · 26-30, M

happypickle · 31-35, F
I had a couple of orbs appear in some photos, but that's about it.
Ihatetheworld · 26-30, M
@happypickle I had that happen just recently what ever it was it made my cat go crazy for a bit
happypickle · 31-35, F
@Ihatetheworld Some say they are dust particles which I find hard to believe as these are little light spheres. Others say dead loved ones returning, but who really knows?
Ihatetheworld · 26-30, M
@happypickle I saw one off Camara as a teen so I don't buy the dust explanation was a angery thing flew in a circle real fast then right at my head

Okay, I'll tell this story again. Been a while.

About 20 years or so ago, and yes, it was a time before everybody had camera phones, my best friend called me up. He worked graveyard shift in those days as a security officer, and his company was in the habit of giving him boring posts, so we would hang out while he was at work and play hide and seek. So I didn't think anything of it when he asked if I wanted to hang out at his latest security site.

This one was different, though. Turns out, he wanted some company because the place was really creepy. It was a construction site for a new church, but there was a house that had been there for 20 years or so. I guess the former owner died in the house, and they thought they would give the land to the church.

I still maintain that somebody should have gone in there with some scientific instruments, because the things that happened in there, at least some of them we're observable and repeatable. My friend took a freshly charged maglite off the charger right in front of me. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the maglite brand, but they are very reliable flashlights. This one, however, flickered and died as my friend led me upstairs to the second floor. It did not resume functionality until we were back on the main floor of the house. No explanation why.

The house itself was pretty creepy, and I suspect and investigation might have determined that the former owner was a murderer. There were suspicious brown stains on some of the walls, and there was a laundry chute that begin somewhere in the attic and opened up onto the concrete floor of the basement. The weirdest part was where the second floor balcony had once been. That had already been torn out by the previous owner before he died, and sure enough, there were funny brown stains on the concrete below where the balcony had been.

My friend would not show me the attic. He said it was off limits, because the floors were rotting and there was a danger of falling through. That basement, though. I swear to this day somebody was in it, watching us.

Anyway, after the tour and some weird possibly house settling noises, we were relaxing in the main room playing Magic: The Gathering, what about 3:00 a.m. (why is it always 3:00 a.m.?) a bunch of dead insects on a table started flying around.

No shit. I had looked pretty close at the damn things, to be honest, and they were all lying there on their backs with their legs curled in the classic dead bug pose. I personally swatted a mosquito into the wall, as hard as I could, then ground my hand against the wall to make sure it was squished beyond recognition. When I pulled my hand away, the mosquito flew off like nothing was wrong.

Anybody got a good explanation for that one?
Ihatetheworld · 26-30, M
@LordShadowfire the zombie bugs are beyond my understanding
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Ihatetheworld I think the ghost of the former owner manipulated their physical bodies to make them look like they were alive. I don't think he liked the idea of a church being built on his house, and he was trying to be as scary as possible to prevent it. I also don't think he succeeded.
Ihatetheworld · 26-30, M
@LordShadowfire I certainly does sound like a creepy experience thank you so much for taking the time to type all that
