Have you ever witnessed anything paranormal?

While i would love to see the aliens but i think what i experienced was relatively mild.

A few months ago, i wake up in the middle of the night after 2:30 -3 am and i see this black robe tall figure walking right across me. I rub my eyes thinking im imagining but it continues to walk.

I am so fckng scared to even turn on the lights from my phone but i did eventually. Opened the door of my room. Could not sleep for an hour after that but eventually went to sleep.

Have you experienced anything spooky?
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Ive experienced a number of weird unexplained things. Im open minded. Im sure lots could be explained away, but some not all.

My sister and i were at a paranormal investigating and split from the group. My sister got 'pushed' through a door into the foyer with such force she flew down 10 steps bum first and cracked two vertibrae in her lower spine. She didnt trip or stumble, as she would have falken onto the landing and slid down the stairs...but 20 idd other people witnessed her whosh through the air, but only her and myself were in the auditorium and i was about 12 feet away from her....and did not....and would not push her ...... as was suggested id done. It was quite a scare. My sister will NEVER go on another paranormal investigation.

@RubySoo OMFG! Was this ever recorded? Damn! I have never been to a paranormal investigation but i dont have the guts to do tjat either. What happ to ur sis was so scary.... Im sure she will never forget that experience
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@SW-User it was scary. Shes attended dozens of investigations over the years and ive been on 4 with her....that being the last. She wont go anymore. She says when im with her, she senses more, like together we amplify the energy. It wasnt recorded. Everyone else had gone for a coffee/ tea break. We re entered the actual theatre on out own. I called out....'is there anyone here with us' and we heard what sounded like a dragging sound. Sis said ' im f***ing getting out of here!' She bebt down ro pick her bag off the floor and i saw her launch through the door bum first, likrd she'd been pushed with force in the stomach. The people the other side of the door saw her flybthrough the air and hit the bottom step. I really could nit have pushed her that hard even if they believed we'd staged it.
She'd said all night she didnt like the feeling in there, she felt it was hostile. The photos i took earlier that evening, , there is a black shadow over the chair directly behind her.....she still cant look at those pics.

I have experienced spooky and started having very wild vivid dreams after being put on an anticonvulsant but not aliens. I certainly do believe they exist, if you think of the entirety of time and space there just has to have been, are or will be other beings . When considering time and space it seems unlikely that we would meet them but possible. The earth has been in existence 22,000 times longer than man has been on earth. So even if somehow one cold go from one life giving planet to another, to somehow cover that great distance what are the chances that it would be done when life existed on both of those planets. Very likely they exists but very unlikely we will see.
SW-User
Agree with your viewpoint and i dont see a reason why there wont be another intelligent life if there is on planet Earth. Space ia huge and expands far beyond our galaxy but would be an experience to witness or encounter something extraterrestrial in my lifetime @Subsumedpat
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@SW-User I think one day we will find radio evidence of it, even that is so hard because space is so big. You have to be monitoring the right location at the right time but if we keep at it we will one day hear it and it will be exciting.

Nothing spooky like that, but I have had several instances of apparent ESP involving other people. I have talked with people following the death of loved ones who say that they experienced contact with the deceased. I can't dispute their stories.
SW-User
@exexec im so curious to know more.
exexec · 61-69, C
@SW-User One ESP experience happened when two friends and I were camping/fishing about 15 miles from home. We were in our cabin when someone, possibly an escaped prisoner, tried to steal my leaky old boat. I scared him away, but he managed to get a boat from people up the lake from us. This happened at 2:00 a.m. At dawn, my father drove up. He had awakened at 2:00, thinking something was wrong with us and started to drive the 15 miles to check. He decided to wait and was amazed that he knew we were in trouble when it happened.
An elderly lady whom I visited, told of the night her sick husband died. He was sleeping in another room, confined to his bed. She woke up and saw him standing by her bed. He said he was okay, but for her to look in his old overalls pocket for some important papers. Then he was gone. She went into his room, and he was dead. She checked, and the papers were there.

@exexec OMFG I actually had goosebumps reading this.

I was at a diner once and had two hot dogs and fries...ok so I was hungry...I went outside to take a quick call and when I came back there was only one hot dog on my plate!
Spooky, was the diner haunted?
SW-User
@Wol62 U kidding right?
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Nope xx
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@SW-User You would not have laughed at the movie, it was awful!
Yes I and a few others witnessed a bizarre paranormal sighting. Also saw a UFO years ago.
SW-User
@BlondilyOld did you happen to take pictures? Also is it true that the US Government had reached out to somw people who saw the ufo to keep quiet and never talk about it? Some documentaries say it was a hush hush back then.

I would feel blessed if i ever get to see one.

Im watching this right now

Even though I haven't experienced or seen anything, I know that the paranormal cannot be explained. St. Augustine, FL., the oldest established settlement in America is vastly haunted. One time I was at the city's old fort and I crawled into a tunnel that led to the old gun powder storage room. I don't know if it was me but I smelled an odor that couldn't be explained. I was the only one in there. What you saw a few months ago was probably a shadow figure. They are known throughout the paranormal.
My adage is: If it’s not science, it’s superstition. All there is for paranormal claims are say-so anecdotes and stories. Nothing that remotely qualifies as evidence. Our senses and brain are the poorest data collectors. Countless things can fool our senses and alter our thoughts.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@BlueSkyKing
"That’s true but my point is testimonies isn’t good enough. Scientists do not accept say-so, they want physical evidence."

I appologize as my post is not about the original stuff.
Even so the persistence of some pop asertions abut Science and scientists deserve IMO some answer as well.

Scientists, as the makers of any other human activity play a dual rol.

As scientists and part of the sientific community they use some criteria to take something as at least a serious candidate to be considered scientific.
Their only provisory acceptance or rejection is about THAT specific quality (to be scientific) of events and not necessarily an opinon about the potential truthness of what is brought by less strict scrutiny.
For that scope, Science, material facts are a promisory foundation, given certain conditions.
While personal testimony is not.
In best cases, like in History Archeology and other about society culture, oral or written testimonies are admited...as evidence of what preople believe or believed.
Of course not as proof that what was believed haves a solid substance.

As also humans, they may (or not) have personal non scientific believes which are taken as such.

There MAY be some clash WHEN a non scientific view tries to explain the natural world by no natural means.
That´s when they take the attitude given by someone around 1060 A.D.

"There are no absolute thruths but certainly there also are some evident lies"

Best wishes to ya all.
@ElRengo Science is a neutral method, not a position. It makes models based on evidence that can be detected, measured, and tested. By anyone. Also falsification is involved. When new and better evidence is found, science is self correcting. Far from perfect, just try to find an alternative that works as well.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@BlueSkyKing
You are quite right and I agree with your description.
May be we may have a milder dissagreement on the mainly methodological approach to the core of research.
Karl Popper, though brought a needed perspective (falsability, a must of course) is far from being the only voice about.
That is, the proof aspect of Science is a strong necessary part of it but not near to be enough to define it.
I once saw someone take the form of somebody else right in front of my eyes. It was weird seeing their bones completely shift. Kinda freaked me out. It's like they were made of water.

But I don't tell that story because people would think I'm crazy 🤷

Yes I have and so has my dads family . I think he and his family are suseptable to the paranormal and I think it has been passed to me because as far as I know my brother and sister have never mentioned anything .
Lostpoet · M
I've definitely had some weird things happen. It might have just been a car or something driving down the road casting a shadow.
SW-User
@Lostpoet tell me more
WandererTony · 56-60, M
Of course. Planchet. Haunted houses. Spirits entering and exiting victims.
SW-User
@WandererTony i used to do planchet as a kid until sumthing creepy happened.

U know there is a place in Mumbai where a ghost slaps? Not kidding. Im serious
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yes back in my early 20s, I swear the whole damn town where I lived was haunted but our house for sure was.
I see a lot of people without a brain but somehow they are still alive. Spoopy.
@SW-User Spirits are attracted to people who are spiritually gifted. I am a clairvoyant and a sensitive.
SW-User
@Souls Really!?!? Oh wow! There was a time back in college when i could feel i could communicate and people believed it too. But then it started getting scary and i couldn't handle the premonition because they were mostly on death
@SW-User My first experience was at the age of ten. There are many ways to communicate with spirits but you have to know the dangers and how to protect yourself. It can be overwhelming and dramatizing to those who are not open to it or have had experience but don't know how to ground their own energy. Whatever you do, do not ever touch a ouija board! It's not the board itself but it's the energy that is created by spirit that leaves an everlasting impact.
rrraksamam · 31-35, M
I lived in a haunted house for 2 years.
I still get spooked sometimes
Steve42 · 56-60, M
Yes, lots. I don’t wish it on anyone.
