Among the Pilgrims who first arrived here in Plymouth, Massachusetts, was a lovely young woman named Priscilla Mullin. The first Governor of Massachusetts, being a busy man, used to send his friend, John Alden, to Priscilla's home, to conduct his courting FOR him.
It seems that Priscilla did not love the Governor, and said, "Why don't you speak for yourself, John?"
