The typical atheist on SW

Y'all are just butthurt that you can't defend your beliefs. 😝
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@DocSavage you are responsible for what you say. You are nothing but a pest. Bye. You are a waste of my words. My belief won't change and that upsets you. Hahaha
DocSavage · M
@Axeroberts
You are nothing but a pest.
And proud of it. As the man said :
“I would rather have questions that can’t be answered, than have answers that can’t be questioned “
Feel free to block me. But, I will always be here to hold you to the test
you are responsible for what you say.
So are you, why do you think we’re here ?
DocSavage · M
@Axeroberts
I don’t expect to change anyone’s beliefs.
Just giving you something to think about. You can ignore whatever you want. Some of us prefer truth to fantasy

🌲 And yet we love them anyway, because we care about their salvation and we want them to have blessings from God, because we love Jesus and he is our example!

@Emosaur We should not punish people, except our kids. But God definitely has the right to punish us since he created us! He gives life and he takes it. That is life!

A bit extreme.

I know of two atheists on this site who object to the religious beliefs of others - usually fundamentalists and evangelists. Most of the time, they challenge in a polite way.

There are plenty of evangelists here. Some start politely, with sweet and leading questions.
Others start rudely - so much so that I wonder whether they've forgotten the teachings of their faith. I'm not limiting this to Christianity. There's more than a few Hindu evangelists here, and a few crackpots trying to initiate their own "original philosophy" that "will solve all the problems of the world".

In some of those conversations, the language quickly escalates on both sides until each is calling the other an idiot, ignoramus, etc. The religious will tell the atheists, agnostics (& anyone who doesn't believe the same as themselves) that they're destined for Hell.

These opponents, whether they know it or not, are trolling each other.

No one is going to change their view just because someone else believes they should.
Most people are irritated by it.

If a person radically changes their beliefs, it's usually due to life circumstances or,
rarely, deep research and analysis.

Those who've adopted a belief (not grown up with it,) are far more likely to try to foist it on others.

Lol, I'll never understand why some of them get so wound up!! All that abusiveness and swearing !!
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Axeroberts no sense at all!
SW-User
@TheWildEcho I’ve PM this guy asking him to desist from attacking me, simply because I do not use American terminology when expressing my faith. It is not expedient for Christians to attack each other.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@SW-User totally agree!
DocSavage · M

Typical believer. Thinks belief equals reason, and common sense.
DocSavage · M
@Axeroberts
Henceforth the term “creationist”
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@DocSavage but that label implies a person thinks the world is 6000 years old. And it is a great way for you to avoid specific beliefs by redirecting. And atheists believe it all came out of nowhere.
DocSavage · M
@Axeroberts
There are young earth creationist, and old earth creationist.
Young earthers tend to be stupider. But regardless, you’re the one bringing up a living creator.
Furthermore, Atheists do not believe the universe came from nothing. You’re spreading misinformation about us. We take that personally. Especially when you can’t tell us where your creator came from, with all those fantastic powers, or why he decided to do it all.
We don’t know the answers, but you’re just adding a unnecessary more question to the equation, and calling it done.
Alyosha · 31-35, M
You see it all the time.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Alyosha no kidding.
DocSavage · M
Know a lot of Atheist, do you ?
Raaii · 22-25, F

@Axeroberts I'll give you a simple answer. Christians missions are to spread the word. It's our mission to dismiss the fallacy of faith. If they can give it' they should be able to take it
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@TrashCat not sure what that means. maybe you should say that to a christain
