But assuming you are right and there is no God. Then I would suggest the nearest image there is of hell and evil is to be found in the Gaza Strip. This is a land of very little love and compassion. It shows mankind’s inhumanity at its worst.

OK, I’m a Christian and I pray for peace and compassion. I get very frustrated, like the Psalmist.

But when I asked people to give thanks to God for the hostage exchange I got nothing but abuse. I got a load of nonsense about Biden, and was called a charlatan. I removed the post, seeing this attack on me as a manifestation of evil. I prayed and added the post again, having blocked the abusive Americans.Love and reconciliation will win through.

To sum up, as a Christian I believe evil was dealt with by Christ on the Cross. The manmade hell rested in the Gaza Strip will ultimately lose.

Other than that, random atoms colliding together after the Big Bang. That does not sound plausible.

But there is love in these places too, and compassion, and we must somehow hang on to that.

Perhaps if you do not accept the Nazi concentration camps as evil, then let’s try the treatment of the Uighur people in China, or the torturous killing of premature babies in Chester.

Jesus died on the Cross to defeat evil. And reconcile us with God. He rose from the dead. This has happened.

The problem of evil remains beyond us.

But it is not a simplistic two dimensional problem, with a two dimensional solution. Nor a mathematical problem.

Keep searching for God my friend. You will find Him.

@Emosaur We should not punish people, except our kids. But God definitely has the right to punish us since he created us! He gives life and he takes it. That is life!
