Do you think for you to be right everyone else has to be wrong, or are all beliefs equal?

I don't get why people having different view points causes such friction. you can accept someone elses belief even when it's not your belief. it doesn't taint what you believe.

everything has it's right place.

There's another side to that coin. I don't believe people should think that they are always right, either. We should be teachable. We can always learn from each other. All beliefs are equal, but you have people that will oppose your post, no matter what you put up, on any subject. Then they think just because they don't agree with you, they can curse at you or troll you.

It's the down side of this digital society of today. Because technology runs on everything being reduced to 1 or 0, entire generations are growing up assuming everything is black or white, good or evil, one extreme or the other and there is no room for multiple responses, views; no middleground or nuance to anything. And the incessant need to reduce things to ever-fewer characters and sentences only makes it worse, and God help us when AI driven robots run everything.

One of the great things about being human is the ability to escape herd mentality, lemming actions, and appreciate the full array of different perspectives, different cultures, different lifestyles and find what fits us the best.
Its a free world, where officially people are a llowed a thing such as freedom of being themselves, so long as they do not step on another's toes (in any way) Every person has a right to his/her beliefs, and they have to learn to live with others in a Society under the same big blue sky

@WhisperinAngelic101 couldn't of put it better.

belief should be considered more like a hobby, just a personal belief that you hold onto, what a person gets from that should be enough. it should never be involved in the running of a society. as a society we should realize are differences and just leave it at that.

I think AI would be fine if we just made them told them they were equal and let them go, making them above or below us is going to just create the usual divides that class systems create. but i guess that isn't what humanity intends when making these AI synthetics.

I think it would help if we all had the ability to compromise effectively.

I saw this YouTuber once said something like “There’s many paths through life. As long as one doesn’t block another then walk your path.”

I like it a lot.

@GambleOnFire i think that is a great main rule to go by.
If I must trust anything based on magical thinking, yes.

I don't mind anyone's religious beliefs, so long as they aren't taught in state schools and have no direct impact on government or the drafting of legislation. In other words, restrict it to your home and your church. Anything outside of that does become a problem.

are you sure that you don't mean "association" when you say "belief?" i have written an essay about this if interested.
darcdragosen · 36-40, M

Equal. But assuming it's out of love. There are many paths to the Creator.
