Why Do People Hate, and Make Jokes About, 'Nickelback'?

I'll never respect or like them because their music is basic, and it's all power chords, and just about anyone could play it. Their music lacks depth and connection with me. I hate how they're produced, and I hate that they make so much money with little to no artistic merit. They're 5 instruments away from being The Backstreet Boys. But they're still better than the Blackeyed Peas, so I'll give them that. And at least BEP aren't R. Kelly. That POS deserves no love.
@SnailTeeth but I agree that even though I believe that Limp Bizkit, Creed, and Nickelback are the trifecta of suck ass music… people should enjoy what they enjoy, period. I also don’t like Kid Rock or ICP. And in fact Kod Rocks recent stuff is such horrible garbage it literally hurts my ears. He may be giving Limp Bizkit a run for worst of all time.

@SnailTeeth I get that. I do that too. I mean I really don’t like them at all but I don’t want to make other people feel bad for their poor taste. It’s not their fault. Shit be confusing sometimes.

@DarkHeaven being better than Limp Bizkit is an extremely low bar to clear. The average musician/band could step right over that bar without tripping. You might want to consider a better comparison. 🤣
As to my personal tastes, I hate them. Along with Creed & Limp Bizkit. There's too much great music out there to waste my time with such mediocrity as those three bands.

Anyone can critique. People also poke fun at McDonalds ... Crocs ... NASCAR ... Hooters ... Taylor Swift ... on and on it goes. Yet all are wildly successful.

To me they are super boring and unoriginal. But I like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift and people dog on them too. If you like them you like them, anything is better than that Limp Bizkit garbage. It’s the worst. Literal torture to my ear drums.
