Why Do People Hate, and Make Jokes About, 'Nickelback'?

I don't get it. What am I missing here?

Anyone can critique. People also poke fun at McDonalds ... Crocs ... NASCAR ... Hooters ... Taylor Swift ... on and on it goes. Yet all are wildly successful.

I'm with you maybe - I enjoy a lot of their tunes. And apparently all those who did cameos in 'Rock Star' enjoy them as well.
