Why Do People Hate, and Make Jokes About, 'Nickelback'?
I don't get it. What am I missing here?

I'll never respect or like them because their music is basic, and it's all power chords, and just about anyone could play it. Their music lacks depth and connection with me. I hate how they're produced, and I hate that they make so much money with little to no artistic merit. They're 5 instruments away from being The Backstreet Boys. But they're still better than the Blackeyed Peas, so I'll give them that. And at least BEP aren't R. Kelly. That POS deserves no love.
@SnailTeeth even their lyrics are just kinda basic. A far cry from say something like The Cure which many people bag on musically too (and about just the music part that’s kinda fair, even though in my opinion it misses the whole point of their band) but whose lyrics totally make the songs. I agree. They made a few radio catchy songs but like most pop… is just bubblegum music with no real heart.

You don't need me to like Nickelback for you to enjoy it. Just like I don't need you to respect why I enjoy the occasional Ozzy song as a guilty pleasure. But at the end of the day, most people will agree that Sabbath were great, and they were the real wizards of power chords (And don't get into which incarnation, there's no point in that level of divisiveness). But we all grow out of Black Sabbath, and all love Sabbath Bloody Sabbath eventually, and may even come around to liking Dio (if you're into that sorta thing). If you enjoy it, enjoy it. I enjoy bagging on them, but I don't want to piss on someone for enjoying something. And none of us have to like Kid Rock, or ICP, but ppl still do.

@SnailTeeth you misunderstood. *giggles* I don’t really like them either. I’m saying that not only is their music uninspired but their lyrics are kinda basic bubblegum pop garbage too. Sorry if I was too long winded. I lose people in my points sometimes because of that.
@SnailTeeth but I agree that even though I believe that Limp Bizkit, Creed, and Nickelback are the trifecta of suck ass music… people should enjoy what they enjoy, period. I also don’t like Kid Rock or ICP. And in fact Kod Rocks recent stuff is such horrible garbage it literally hurts my ears. He may be giving Limp Bizkit a run for worst of all time.
