I just woke up to a light in my bedroom that shouldn’t be on

I knew it was off when I went to sleep. I just checked my Alexa history and it said I turned it on at 4:19am. I went into the details because I thought maybe I was like rolling around on my phone in my sleep and opened the app and pressed the button, but I turned it on by voice.
I didn’t believe it, but it has a recording of me asking it to turn the light on. I don’t even sound asleep/sleepy. I have no recollection of this.

That's strange. I have a story, not meaning of taking away from yours but mine is also strange. About two weeks ago, my wife and I fell asleep in our bedroom, like we always do, but when I woke up in the morning, I was on our couch with the TV on! She doesn't remember me getting up and I have no memory of it.

I have three echos in my house and this is one reason I don`t have any do anything like this. 😅
I came home to a locked door late one night and couldn't figure out why. Searching my pockets for keys and pretty much freaking out that I couldn't find them anywhere. It felt so surreal and I panicked. Fortunately for me it was only a dream and by that time I had calmed down. I never figured out human nature 😄

My wife has asked me to phone her in order to wake her up. Sometimes she goes back to sleep and has no memory of the conversation she had with me on the phone.
itsok · 31-35, F
@DrWatson this used to happen with my old job. I’d get calls at like 5am with instructions I needed for the day and I’d have a full conversation and not remember it

Your memory is as cute and short as you are 🥰
I hear the secrets that you keep...when you're talking in your sleep. 😴
Coralmist · 41-45, F
So weird!! I once woke up without my shirt on. This has never happened and never has since that night. I can only imagine i had been too hot but I don't recall WHATSOEVER actually sitting up and taking it off.. I must've done it in a dead sleep lol!!! I think that must've been for you as well. 😛
itsok · 31-35, F
@Coralmist ok now this happens to me 😂 I will take my clothes off in my sleep. The thing that gets me is that it has a recording and I don’t sound like I’m asleep. I guess I was, though

Maybe your dog is practising your voice for the future for when Alexa also controls your fridge. 🤔
Classified · M
@itsok You should have seen this coming. 👀
itsok · 31-35, F
@Classified I was distracted by her cuteness
Classified · M
@itsok She's really feigning innocense in that picture. 😶
Umile · 41-45, F
@ 4:19 am ? The timing is yeah. Start recording yourself while you sleep. It lets me breathe.
Umile · 41-45, F
@itsok video.

My goodness. Sleep walking. A glitch or tech error. Intruders. Possession. Poltergeists.

Smh.

Could be anything.
itsok · 31-35, F
@Umile I have cameras in my bedroom to check on my animals, but I turn them off when I get home. Do you look over your footage often?
Umile · 41-45, F
@itsok If something doesn't feel right. Protect yourself.

I regularly wake up to find that the snooze settings on my clock and my phone have been set, and I don't remember doing that at all. The sleeping brain is a maze.

You probably had a dream and talked in your sleep. It happens lol
itsok · 31-35, F
@SW-User the recording sounded like I was fully awake
SW-User
@itsok thats pretty cool
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
After my dad died we had lights going in and off all over the house for three months. Other weird stuff too
It’s surprising when somehow we find out what we’ve done while “asleep ”. Trust me!
I know it's alarming to hear yourself sound so awake and know that you most probably weren't.

I've woken myself up talking. Hard to explain. Heard a voice. awoke. Realized it was me. My ex said that it didnt happen often but sometimes i would talk and he thought I was awake because i sounded fully alert. Usually this happened when i had previous been ' high strung' his words

spooky 😯
DownTheStreet · 51-55, M
Must have awoke from a dream
Barny52 · 56-60, M
Its the sun storm that’s starting today, playing with electric stuff
itsok · 31-35, F
@Barny52 I’ll take that as a no
LandOfOz · 61-69, M
@itsok the brain can be disrupted by external electromagnetic activity I think is what hes saying
Barny52 · 56-60, M
@LandOfOz I was thinking that Alexa was being affected too be honest,, our internet was playing up but had a brilliant show of northern lights here ,, never seen them before
Pfuzylogic · M
Who else would know they were “twinkle” lights?
itsok · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic nobody, and it was my voice, fuzz 🥲
Pfuzylogic · M
@itsok My memory is for sh** now also. Just yesterday it was 5 minutes and I wasn’t sure if I had taken my Metformin for type 2.
I wouldn’t be concerned until it affects the ones you love.
calicuz · 51-55, M
Either you sleep walk, or you're in a parallel dimension. 🤷‍♂️

My girlfriend laughs at me….but I hate Alexa. When I stay at her place it really creeps me out, when Alexa will interject some random comment when we’re having a conversation or just sitting together reading.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Sleep talking
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@itsok I've heard my wife say things in her sleep that were perfectly clear. lol
itsok · 31-35, F
@JimboSaturn what does she talk about in her sleep? 👂 👂 👂

At least it was you turning it on
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@itsok do you usually talk in your sleep lol
itsok · 31-35, F
@iamonfire696 I mean I mumble and can have conversations but why in the world would I turn on the light? lol
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@itsok Maybe you were going through that motion in your dream so you did it lol
MethDozer · M
That's not ok
