no more than women 😒
GoFish ·
@SilentObZerver no as i don't believe in that at all it's just plain lust
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@GoFish what if the "lust" is fueled by nature.....?
GoFish ·
@SilentObZerver that's just an excuse

I think people, once you remove the burden of bringing up children alone, have the potential to be polygamous
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@Convivial so in essence you think not only men are polygamous/polyamorous by nature but women are too

But the only obstacle is bringing up children

Great angle .....
But how does that restrict or prevent one from having multiple partners?
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SilentObZerver think about it.... If you're busy looking after children who is bringing in the money to feed them?
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@Convivial thats a good point!

You(the woman)can bring in the money if you work or the man ......

But if cos there are men who cater from their children yet are still in polyamorous relationship
I think that assertion was most definitely made by a man.
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@Mindfulness so how do you see an assertion made of a group of people by a an individual who belongs that group

Is that assertion valid or the mere point that individual belongs to that group it invalidates the veracity/legitimacy of the assertion?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I think most humans are poly by nature. We can all admit to being attracted to/having crushes on people other than who we're dating at the time. Or we can lie to ourselves. 🤷🏻‍♀
Mmiker · 46-50, M
@DearAmbellina2113 Nice perspective
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@DearAmbellina2113 good point

Does having attraction for others automatically make one a poly
Or its what one chooses to do with the attraction while in the committed relationship ?
exexec · 70-79, C
Some are and some aren't. I have had only one lover. My wife, who is not a man, has enjoyed a variety of men.
MizzO · 36-40, F
I think that it's more nurture than nature and therefore a blanket statement that pigeonholes men to an idea they may not subscribe to.
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@MizzO interesting point

What makes you lean toward nurture, and how do you account for the same pattern showing up across cultures and history?
How would any of us know the true nature of men when we are all socially and culturally conditioned from birth ?

We are but the product of our familial, cultural and generational ethics🤷‍♀
Convivial · 26-30, F
@OogieBoogie good point...
SilentObZerver · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie so if you cant know due to societal or cultural conditioning.....

Does it mean if anyone makes that assertion you will leave the door open?

For instance, your man wakes up oneday to say he can no more be with one woman
