So much hate .... i don't think this is just about rainbows either.
I have never felt that the lgbtq community has a monopoly on the rainbow. For me it also symbolises the nhs, i also look for my dead friend in rainboes ... as she asked, and i happily display it in my support of the lgbt community.

I get the feeling that whatever symbol the community had chosen there will be those that phobic towards the community and will make excuses

It’s not gay people, it’s gay activists. They are Neo-Marxists who have taken it upon themselves to use gays, gender, race, as a Trojan Horse for their nefarious ideology of hate and destruction of western civilization. So, while I feel the same and can commiserate about the misappropriation of rainbows and other symbols of daily life, it’s not so much the people themselves, but those who pretend to speak up for their cause, when in reality, they don’t care one iota about gays, or anyone else for that matter.

Rainbows belong to everyone, not just tax-avoiding mythical folk. I think as many people in Britain would associate a stylised rainbow with universal healthcare (it was used by supporters of the NHS during the pandemic) as they would with LGBT causes.

I guess I don't universally associate the "rainbow" with LGBT. There are a bunch of uses of the rainbow entirely outside gay pride. Including a bunch of flags that were used before and after the gay pride flag. My own spiritual tradition has a sort of rainbow flag. It never occurred to me that it might be taken as a gay thing.

I love rainbows and enjoy them even though I’m not gay. If people think I’m gay that’s on them. I’m certain they have thought much less of me haha
