This sounds like a person trying to say their opinion is law [proclamation, like proclaim]...

and a person who likes to see people as all the same, not see individuals ["painting with a broad brush" means you make general statements, say things like "men are stronger than women"...when at least SOME women are stronger than SOME men; not seeing *you* as your own person]

"Weighting"...well, it comes from math, but the idea is that you listen most to the best sources, least to the worst. If an expert says something about his/her field, it is most likely *right*--so you can trust it more. But a person talking about things beyond their knowledge, experience, training...well, you don't listen to "BS", right?

So when you get advice from someone who doesn't know, or someone forces it on you [you did not ask for or SOLICIT the opinion, so it is UNsolicited, UN-asked-for], you should feel free to smile and forget it...be like a duck and let it be water which rolls off of you. DISCARD crap ppl try to push on you. 😊
