It's pretty insane to think that divine intervention was responsible for diverting a bullet from Donald Trump to some poor lowly peasant

@Diotrephes I have to agree. If you look at Trump's ear now, the healing is truly miraculous.

@LordShadowfire It's too bad that the SOB can't regrow his brain.

I am Christian but just because trump says he thanks or believes in Jesus doesn’t mean he really means it.
He promotes Christian Nationalism imo not because it is Christian but because it gets rid of our Democracy and Constitution! .

Personally, I think that if some beneficent deity were deflecting bullets, it would be done without killing a heroic firefighter.
If we're invoking the supernatural in this event, I think it much more likely that Trump was saved by SATAN.

I think people consider the dead and injured bystanders to be the greater tragedy .

I have to admit that far too many people, especially politicians, try to use the belief in God that the vast majority have to their own advantage. Even though I kind of like him, I do not believe that Donald Trump is actually a Christian.

That's the best joke I've seen in the politics section this year.
Oh, wait. You were serious? Allow me to laugh even harder.
I value his honesty above all.

People praise God because they always identify with the main character when they witness a miracle. If God saved Trump, he will save them if they ever get in danger too. The idea that God didn't intervene with the death of a bystander doesn't matter, because they're never going to be such a side character. And yet there are almost always more victims than heroes, so maybe people should consider themselves in those roles as well before getting all too relieved and thankful.

No -- his delusions are his problem. It's his hate-mongering, violent, anti-American views that I'll vote against.

Word I hear, it was glass fragments, not a bullet.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@NerdyPotato I heard that one as well. Supposedly came from the teleprompter. But then I heard Donald Trump specifically state that it was a bullet.
NerdyPotato · M
@LordShadowfire a teleprompter would be a reasonable source of glass, but that raises another question: if he uses one at those events, were the ramblings about sharks and batteries all scripted? 🤨
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@NerdyPotato He definitely goes off script a lot. They try to keep him on certain talking points, but that's dementia for you.

Wow. Just wow. You really think that not believing in God is some kind of movement.

It should be especially irritating to believers who don't support him. In fact,vi can account for one case where it does!
