Improvements mean Everything is trash

I’ve just today realized that I’ve improved my drawing level so much that everything I’ve posted up until yesterday is ABSOLUTE garbage. I’ll be moving all of those horrendous drawings to my Trash Heap collection very soon if not today. I’m just better than the past stuff I’ve done and I hate looking at any of it.

No it's not ,,, yes you have improved but your artistic style may have been a little primitive but i liked it so don't do that.... I still want you to do art for my pleasure and hang it on the walls of my PlayHouse... Don't hate, love what you do ,start loving you because when you love yourself you will become happier.... Love and happy go together.....❤️🥰❤️

Yeah when we improve our skills in anything, we feel like our previous efforts are garbage but we needed those previous efforts in order to learn and improve. So basically they are not garbage. Just steps in the learning process

I hope you post some new drawings with your new found talent?
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@Teslin [image]What about this one?
Teslin · M
@herDestiny Excellent talent.
I'm not into the choking thing though.
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@Teslin don’t worry, she’s not being choked. That would mean that she can’t breathe and I’m not into that either. A firm grip isn’t necessarily choking.

Congrats for your improving skills.
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@TexChik Thank you.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
Please don’t
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@Strictmichael75 Why not? Wouldn’t everyone rather see better drawings?
@herDestiny sometimes, keeping some old drawings shows HOW you have improved.

And this in itself helps you "see" better. It can even help you see other areas in which you can improve.

I woundnt throw all of it away - art is about seeing, and learning to put that seeing into reality.

And we really do learn from our mistakes, esp in art .🤗

@herDestiny of course
But it’s interesting to see the difference, to compare !
Make a new folder!

leave them alone i remember when you did them yes you have improved use the old ones as a bench mark for more improvement .
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@olderuncle944 yes, Sir. I understand.
olderuncle944 · 70-79, M
@herDestiny Im glad you do and keep up the good work later you cal look back and think did i really draw that.I believe you have something else you need to do for your dom
Domking · 61-69, M
It's great news that you are improving.

However, the previous creations are not necessarily useless - they are drawn with less skill maybe, but still those are expressions.
Be kind
Teslin · M
When will you think you will be posting new drawings ?
Do you need a model 😂
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
But, it is cool to be able to see your improvement!
But that's a good thing 🤷
We can only get better with practice 🤗

Don't see it as "that stuff is crap",
See it as "wow, I've improved so much".
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Don't be ashamed of the journey, but do take pride in your success.
I've been there. Not with drawings, but with writing. The first short story I ever wrote, I kept going back and editing until I improved it to death.
@LordShadowfire well that's a good point .
She could use the old stuff as inspiration to re draw them better with her enlightened skills 👍
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
How did you improve
herDestiny · 36-40, F
@Monalisaa1986 Planes and shading are starting to be added, perspective is better, head shape and features are better, the body poses seem more natural. Hands and fingers exist. I'm slightly better with drawing hair if I do more than a sketch. Also, I've drawn some folds in clothing from direct reference.
@herDestiny So good to hear this news.
