Copperheads, Rattlesnakes, scorpions, yellow jacket wasps, black widow & brown recluse spiders, skunks. A pair of mountain lions strayed up a couple miles away in a rural area & got on a porch while the residents were away at Thanksgiving about 10 years ago, and a black bear got into the city and ended up in a resident’s back yard…the first ever sighting of a black bear in this city since it was founded.

@cherokeepatti geezus, you got a lot going on there

@Nebula Let’s just say tent-camping is out of the question for me here. Even walking around in the backyard at night without a flashlight is something I won’t do anymore. A man in the next county got bit by a copperhead in his front yard when it was getting dusky dark and he had to have 8 anti-venoms and it cost $10,000 for each one. Even with good insurance he still had to pay quite a bit for his hospitalization. It costs about $200 to produce each vial of anti venom but the pharmaceutical companies and hospitals are so greedy they inflate the cost to an obscene level.

@cherokeepatti that's so messed up and unfortunately not surprising at all
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nebula Those inflated prices started after ObamaCare went into effect.

@cherokeepatti the pharmaceutical industry is built on greed
