Who wants to rescue me? 😆

I can't go to bed because of a spider...

I am usually ok at removing them but this one was so big and fast 😭 It has gone behind the drawers right next to my bed and normally if I can't see them they don't bother me but then I thought 'what if it goes on me when I'm asleep'? Or goes on my face?? 😱

I actually just went back in and found it... it was still along the outside of the room, further along the wall. I actually do try to keep them alive and throw them out the window but I couldn't take any chances this time and had to flush it ☹️
helsbels · 26-30, F
@helsbels At least, I HOPE it was the same one 😯

Spray behind the chest...
helsbels · 26-30, F
@ozgirl512 Have you ever had any horrible encounters, or are you all like Steve Irwin over there?
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@helsbels 8 legs, 2 fangs and an attitude problem!
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@helsbels I'll be honest, they scare the crap out of me lol... Our Huntsman riders are harmless, but bloody big!

@helsbels Vacuum cleaner is designed for these situations! 🤣
helsbels · 26-30, F
@CheekyBadger No they can live in there! I would find it crawling out of the bin one day after I emptied the vaccuum 😨
ShadowWolf · 31-35, M
I usually allow one "resident spider" in my quarters. I prefer having a spider to all the other potential bugs. The spider takes care of any that get in the AC for me. So I allow it to live.

There should be no worries until it gets in your drawers.....

I once shot an elephant in my pajamas. What it was doing in my pajamas I have no idea.....
AdaXI · 41-45, T
Do you like your house? I mean easy option would simply be to move, otherwise we'll have to do this the old fashioned way, lolz!

helsbels · 26-30, F
@AdaXI oh I have dealt with worse in the past but this one escaped my first attempt, that's all
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Unless you live in a country that does have spiders capable of harming humans, it would not have hurt you. Nor would it have chosen to walk around on you, but might have done accidentally. If you are asleep you wouldn't notice it!

I lived alongside a big spider for a few days, but eventually caught it and put it under the garden shed, probably a better environment for it anyway. I was not worried for my sake but did not want to risk accidentally killing it!
helsbels · 26-30, F
@ArishMell I know, but it was the knowledge of it being so close to me, that's all. I remember reading somewhere that you swallow like 7 spiders in your sleep over your life which is a bit hard to believe... but if it's true I didn't want that to be one of them!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@helsbels Oh, I understand you! I don't really believe the 7 spiders story either. I think they'd have to be very tiny ones, perhaps baby ones leaving their original hatchery by floating down-wind on their very fine threads, as those of some species do.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Next time you need rescuing, give me a call. I'm fearless when it comes to spiders 🙂
Disposal · 36-40, M
Lighter and hairspray is your only hope now
helsbels · 26-30, F
@Disposal It's not a spider tonight, now it's a mosquito! Had the windows open all evening for the heat 🥵
helsbels · 26-30, F
Another spider encounter... I opened my window and a small one dropped on to the ledge, inside. I tried to brush it on to my hand to throw it out but it was so fast it ran right off and landed on the floor.

Hate the thought of it being 'somewhere' in my bedroom now, and where/when it might turn up again and if it grows in to a big one 😭

Time for the flamethrower!

@deadgerbil WHYYYY
Do you want to get blocked?? 💀
deadgerbil · 22-25
@helsbels no 😅
Theyitis · 36-40, M
I would but I’m across the pond from you. What’s the worst it can do, bite you? It’s not even venomous is it? Just go to bed.

I'd say he's likely more afraid of you, than you are....but the better option is move to another room or downstairs for the night.

Good luck.
tsunami64 · 36-40, M

They usually reside in corners in order to weave their webs there.
