Dog owners who neglect them are cruel

My neighbour has a medium size dog that is left alone all day.
Poor thing barks constantly, no doubt going mental with boredom.
I am near the point of talking to the owner to suggest that they give up the dog to someone who has time to give it love and attention.
Animal cruelty is what it is.

@Sheer Yeah that seems about right. I'm from Serbia, which isn't far from Ukraine, and people often times eat dogs as food rather than keep them as pets.

[c=666666]@BlueMetalChick I think it isn't right to eat dogs, as they have co-existed with humans for so many years, for the purposes we bred them. Even then, there is a difference between killing/eating, and cruelty/mistreating, I think.[/c]

@Sheer I agree. I don't necessarily see anything inherently wrong with eating a dog because we've also domesticated and bred other animals like cows and pigs and horses. But there is absolutely a line between eating something and intentionally abusing it.

A couple of year ago I had a neighbour who neglected his dog, he would be gone for days and the dog was emaciated. I never talked to him I just waited for him to leave one day, hopped the fence and took the dog. I had already found it a loving family so I had absolutely no remorse about stealing his dog.

Tbh I don't think he cared

I absolutely hate dogs, but I'm still with you that it's unacceptable to abuse or neglect an animal. A living thing must be respected.
