Just gonna leave this right here...

I live by a wildlife area near the city limits. Last night on the way home from work I dropped half a burger and tater tots to a family of raccoons by the river and from the sounds they made you bet they were thankful. It took 7 years but after throwing scraps to a stray she finally had trust enough to walk into my house after giving me a thank-you gift.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever a waste. Little things do matter.

Wow, 7 years is a long time.
She looks healthy.💪

I spoil her now. Also, lots of small rodents by the river and field next door. My real concern is we got coyotes and javelina peccaries nearby.
@PatKirby It took a few years to convince Mamakitty to sleep inside at night, that wild streak in feral cats is hard to tame.😸
Hopefully your kitty starts to see the safety advantage of sleeping indoors.

Exactly. My porch camera shows after 3am it's a possum/raccoon/critter highway just feet away. The other half-feral tabby who comes by for treats is only now accepting my hospitality indoors. I think it's the unbearable increase in 100°F+ daily weather these days and my cool tile floor is tempting.
