Dumb? Not hardly. My black cat, elderly as she is, was always sharp as a tack and still is at age 14. She's been a wonderful pet and friend for a long time. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

@Strapmaster maybe it's the breeding... One of mine was born a barn cat and the other's family tree is... Well... His father is also his brother....

I’ve personally only had one black cat and he was awesome. Wasn’t dumb at all

My black cats were brilliant but they both died young from cancer 😥

@SwampFlower I'm so sorry for your loss. I consider my girl black cat to be my soul mate... I know that if/when she leaves this world before me I will be lost.

@ForeverOnMyGuard I felt the same way about mine. And it was hard. 🫂
Now I have mostly oranges and they…well it just depends on who inherited the brain cells 🥲

@Cigarguy a vicious attack! I have one that is relentless for toes. I fear that when I die, she will eat those first.

@beermeplease my harlequin coat one is so freaking smart. I swear she's almost as smart as a 5 year old human. She knows whats up and how to get her way.
