@GovanDUNNY If he'd been David Attenborough or Steve Irwin you wouldn't say that.

Don't get me wrong, I think he was fool for being around bears at that point in the year when they are desperately trying to put on weight but if he'd been more famous it'd not seem so wild if you know what I mean. He was studying the bears, he considered it his work same as the more famous TV guys do. 🤷‍♀️

@AntisocialTroll That was so sad. His girlfriend was terrified of the bears and desperately wanted to leave. But she chose to "stand by her man" and in the end was eaten along with him. 🥺

@bijouxbroussard I know and if they just hadn't gone back for that extra week they might still be here.

@Mamapolo2016 i was on the porch taking pictures...they didn't seem to be too concerned with me watching them.
I was in the yard this summer working on my gardens..there was a bear 50ft away..watching me when my husband whispered Bear...i turned around and behold this huge bear ...my heart went into overdrive and my feet..lol...

@MoonlightLullaby hi🌹 her and the cubs are every day visitors. Nothing out there to eat so they get the remaining corn that the deer leave we leave out. Yup, she was here with her 4 cubs last spring and returned this spring. It's an experience to watch them.

@Ghostinthemachine we feed the deer and birds...they just come to help themselves. We have been here for nearly 9yrs and we see several bears every year. We are careful...always.

@ShadowWorker Well, if they get hungry enough, Mama Bear will lead them to anything that smells like food, most especially a cool outdoor grill, or the picnic table.

When we camped at Mohawk Trail State Park in Western Massachusetts, I fixed lunch on the camp stove on top of the picnic table...I think it was canned chili. We had stayed at the park after most of the people renting cabins had gone home, so there was no trash way up the hill for the bears anymore, and Mama Bear had TWO cubs.

I felt sleepy after lunch, and told the ex I was going to take a nap in the tent, and next thing I know, the ex is yelling and screaming...apparently at the Mama Bear and the two cubs. They were attracted by the smell of food, and the cubs crawled ALL over our picnic table, and even got into my box of kleenex. Right next to the tent where I was trapped in my sleeping bag.

When they found there was no food, they left. The ex hid inside his panel truck after screaming challenges to Mama Bear verbally, but she definitely didn't care about him.

You know, living as we do here...you take the bad with the good.
When i was in town, had to worry..deal with the idiots next door...and the noise.
I am no fool and will always remember the dangers here in the mountains..woods. It isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Never been to Massachusetts..

@SarithBorn well...mama bear has been around here since spring with her cubs. If she felt threatened..she would not be here. This home has good peaceful vibes. We keep our distance too.
