You know those "aw those poor pets, we should send them money" commercials?

My mother raises a valid point the dog has a shed with hay to lay on, appears to be well fed, and if they are tied up? News flash, a lot of animals are fellow dog/ human killers. Lolz they need to overhaul their pity scene if they're gonna scam money from someone with at least half a brain

With all due respect, that's an incredibly shallow perspective you and your mother have on the matter. It's not a scam, it's so those animal shelters can keep providing shelter, food and care to the pets they're housing, which costs a lot of money and most are nonprofit organizations that do not receive government funding, so donations are essential for them. Even if they really didn't need any donations, your mother does not raise a valid point just because the pets shown appear to be in good care. That's like saying the cancer patients in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital commercials appear to be in perfectly good hands, so one shouldn't donate to them.

@Ducky these aren't videos of a paid shelter. They are playing the tear jerker card by seeing their already poor circumstances which are not

@pride49 Sorry, but your logic doesn't add up. I just hope you don't see commercials for things like the aforementioned children's hospital in a similar way.

@Ducky it just doesn't make sense because the video has sad looking dogs in snow or mud in those commercials. That are well groomed, look properly fed and have a dog box half the time. Almost like they're saying unless you rescue all animals and make them house pets or send money you are a terrible person.

@pride49 That doesn't mean none of their dogs are being abused or neglected. Do you think a person suffering from abuse has to be covered in marks?
pride49 · 31-35, M
@Ducky No lol

@pride49 So why do you seem to think the dogs have to be? Maybe they do have dogs that really look in poor shape, but they just happened to have their better-looking ones in the commercial. Regardless, like I said, it doesn't mean all of their animals are perfectly fine.

@Ducky I guess
