With all due respect, that's an incredibly shallow perspective you and your mother have on the matter. It's not a scam, it's so those animal shelters can [i]keep[/i] providing shelter, food and care to the pets they're housing, which costs a lot of money and most are nonprofit organizations that do not receive government funding, so donations are essential for them. Even if they really didn't need any donations, your mother does not raise a valid point just because the pets shown appear to be in good care. That's like saying the cancer patients in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital commercials appear to be in perfectly good hands, so one shouldn't donate to them.

@Ducky it just doesn't make sense because the video has sad looking dogs in snow or mud in those commercials. That are well groomed, look properly fed and have a dog box half the time. Almost like they're saying unless you rescue all animals and make them house pets or send money you are a terrible person.
