Can you believe humans are before snakes on this list? So weird…

I'm surprised we're after mosquitos...

@Longpatrol Yeah. Mosquitoes are killers. There's actually a pretty solid argument to be made for their eradication. Don't think that can be said for any other species. Their role in the food chain, and as a pollinator, isn't so dramatic that it would cause a huge ripple effect. They're experimenting in California now, through a really interesting process, with the eradication of a species of mosquito that has the potential to pass on disease. If it works as intended it could be a game changer in a lot of parts of the world.

@Ynotisay It's probably reasonable to eradicate certain species of mosquito, I'm not so sure that eradicating all of them would necessarily be a good idea; it would leave a gap in the market so to speak that would be filled by something else.

@ninalanyon You're right. It needs to be really specific. The upside is that not all species of mosquitoes carry disease. It's actually a pretty small percentage. Eliminating them because they're a nuisance doesn't carry much weight for me. Eradicating the potential for disease does make some sense though if the impact is minimal.
