I'm so tempted to drink tonight

I'm actually considering to, in spite of knowing I'll be violently ill tomorrow due to the anti-drinking meds I'm on.

I've spent several hours trying to find a local violin teacher, but there aren't any. And the ones who teach other instruments are for kids only.

I'm also sick and tired of living in a small town with no proper culture.
All concerts and shows are by kids or local bands, with the odd standup show by some comedian I've never even heard of. (Not that I enjoy Norwegian humor much anyway)
We don't even have a proper pub around here. Just the local coffee bar that happens to have a liquor license.
Not even a place to buy/rent/repair instruments.

I've come to the conclusion that to not only survive, but to live, I'll need to move. But I don't have the money to do that. I barely get by as is.

I feel so incredibly stuck right now, I just wanna drink to forget about this spiral that's bringing me down.

But, I wanna stay strong and try to save my money so I can get a proper violin one day.

That's a sad situation to be in. I think you know that the drink will not do anything to help, but I understand why you might feel desperate enough to turn to it. Take care of yourself and perhaps confide in a friend about how things are going for you.

@FreddieUK I talked to a friend who's also a recovering alcoholic, so I went for a drive instead. Now I'm gonna eat and put on an André Rieu concert on youtube. (Again)

@TheRealBarbossa Really pleased to read this. 🙂 Music is a powerful therapy for me, too.
