When you miss someone do you ever think that you shouldn't because if they cared they would still be around?

maybe i shouldnt miss them because of how they treated me in the last two years of our friendship, and how i felt abandoned by her the day my mom died, although we were hardly friends by that point and she didn't think she could do anything for me so she left me for her boyfriend. but we were little girls together and all my anger i have let go. her baby was born in october i think. i hope she has the peace in her family she has always desperately wanted, and can find herself to forgive the people who she she holds so much anger for

Hmm, not really. I know how life is and how people drift apart. I also know that they're not the same people today that they were then, just like I'm not either. No telling whether we'd still be friends even if we were in touch.

I've thought that before, but not for a long time now. The people I miss most, are no longer in this world.

I miss them because I miss them. Those are my feelings. It's not transactional upon how they feel.

The only people I really miss now are those who aren’t in my life anymore because they can’t be. With those who could but choose not to, missing them for too long is wasted energy. 🥺
