Having a female doctor is extremely uncomfortable for them.

Now you have to inspect my nutsack. Why are you laughing?

Or maybe they are in the wrong line of work. 🤔

yes i have had the must have a chaperone scenario too. Female doctor refused to give prostate examination said it had to be a male colleague. Fair enough so booked an appointment with a male colleague. Come the day, he said had to have a chaperone - looked for one and only female chaperone available. Did I mind a female chaperone - no but that being so, couldn't I have had the examination 3 weeks earlier with the female GP??

We live in a sometimes crazy politically correct world ...

the stranger thing is some 2 years later had further examination different female GP in the same practice, was I okay with her doing the examination now rather than getting me back in the surgery - yes - did I want a chaperone - no OK well we can go straight ahead then !!!

My primary care doc is female, and I will see her Monday. It's fine with me and seems to be fine with her. I don't see it as being different from my wife's Ob/Gyn docs being mostly being male.

@exexec most gynos aren't male
exexec · 70-79, C
@pancakeslam My father-in-law was one. All of my wife's were male until recently. True, most are probably female now.
When I was a young teen, getting a physical... a female doctor had to check for testicular cancer.

When she touched them... young teen hormones... the horse suddenly uncontrollably jump and landed smack hard on her wrist/forearm... and everyone was extremely uncomfortable...

She finished the check... then stepped out, so let me get re-dressed and I never saw her again, as a male took over the remainder of the visit.

I completely understand her reaction... I just hope she understood that it was 100% involuntary, and I, as a young teen, had zero control of the hormone reactions at that time, as they were overloading and that was new to me then...

@sstronaut surprised she didn't take the hint better
@pancakeslam what hint?

I assume she was just disgusted that a child's just smacked her

My doctor is male.
When an intimate examination is necessary he asks one of the nurses to be present.
The first time it occurred, I told him that it was not necessary but he insisted. I think they are afraid of accusations or maybe it is an insurance requirement.

@emmasfriend accusations happen all the time.
There have been incidents. It protects everyone

when they take my blood each year, i try my best not to make a deal out of the physical contact. some of them are lovely though. 🥺
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@pancakeslam i dunno. you can look a little strong if you don't flinch when they put the needle thing in.😌

I love female doctors. One time a doctor was kneeling infront of me while I was completely naked. She asked me if I had issues getting erections. I said no. But in my head I was thinking, stay down there and you’re going to find out! 😂😂😂

@Cantsayno maybe that's the problem is my blood is rushing 👇 there

I had a woman doctor who wanted to check my prostate. I told her she would have to say she loved me first. Didn't even get a smile.
Cantsayno · 56-60, M

@pancakeslam 🤔to any doctor i think this is not the case the human anatomy is there field of expertise . i think being a male patient being examined by a female doctor may be more of an issue would be more humiliating lol 😆
