I Am a Diabetic On An Insulin Pump

I have been diabetic since I was little. I am 18 now and I had an insulin pump six years ago. The pump is in a pouch which clips onto my bra. And delivers insulin every three minutes. Through a cannula in my stomach.

Have you looked into the Omnipods? It's tubeless and you only have to carry a transmitter around to punch in your carbs.

Yes. We need not hide it. We are disabled. But we are getting on with life. I swim for my country. I train in the pool at college. I am not ashamed of my my pump when I take it off and put it on in the changing room. Nor testing my blood. @Pfuzylogic

I have only known about mine for about a year now and have been blessed that I have been able to keep it under control with diet. 4.8 A1C the last two time I have been to the doctors. sorry to hear that you have had to deal with it for so long.

I think it must be. Every three days I have to take it off to renew the insulin cartridge and the cannula. The bit that goes into me! And I am surprised how warm it feels. @StevetheSleeve
