I Am a Diabetic On An Insulin Pump

I have been diabetic since I was little. I am 18 now and I had an insulin pump six years ago. The pump is in a pouch which clips onto my bra. And delivers insulin every three minutes. Through a cannula in my stomach.

I just started insulin.
It is strange how people can make value judgments on that.

This is my personal experience from my mom and step dad. Both were pretty condescending and I am thinking
“Where are you coming from?”

If you are on insulin you got to not worry about what anyone thinks. Just get yourself right. @Pfuzylogic

You couldn’t be more right.
It just shocked me that people close talked to me that way.

It isn’t your fault! To live with it makes you value life. And a challenge we can meet! With determination no one else ever knows. @Pfuzylogic

@LiliHaf That is so very true and I admire your boldness in your approach to life. I think part of our task is to educate others about what we are about!

Yes. We need not hide it. We are disabled. But we are getting on with life. I swim for my country. I train in the pool at college. I am not ashamed of my my pump when I take it off and put it on in the changing room. Nor testing my blood. @Pfuzylogic
