House… no noisy neighbors stomping above me and no ahole landlord. Also I don’t want to buy someone else’s house for them by paying rent
Darkskiescoming · 51-55, M
@Starchild1983 agree with you. Plus you don't want them to hear you screaming....lol
Starchild1983 · 41-45, F
@Darkskiescoming well I don’t do much screaming 🤨
Darkskiescoming · 51-55, M

I actually like apartments better I think. I don't have to fix anything that breaks, I don't have to worry about pest control or lawn care, and I am a minimalist so I don't need a lot of space. It works.

city centre apartment and house in countryside... best of both worlds.

House without close neighbors ... quiet and privacy
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
House. The whole thing is mine, more privacy, I can be louder without worrying about bothering my neighbors. My neighbors are less likely to be loud enough to bother me.
The only bonus to an apartment is they're typically cheaper

Definitely a house,it’s generally bigger in space n size,it’s more private and since apartments remind me of a vertical prison, people living in boxes stacked high, living too close for comfort,etc..
iamnikki · 31-35, F
currently in my first apartment. Better than I expected.

House is always preferred. I've lived in apartments on rent my whole life. It's a nightmare when you park your vehicles and the maintenance is always crap where I live.

It takes a certain kind of person to stand apartment living. I love cranking up the music, and the walls in most apartment buildings are too thin for that.
exexec · 61-69, C
House. When I lived in an apartment, it always seemed to be temporary, like I was in a hotel or something. Owning a house is more complicated, but I like it.

More privacy. Less area noise

An apartment would be preferable

House. Lots more space.
PhoenixPhail · M
It depends on how long you plan on staying there. If it's for just a short while, renting would be smart. If you plan on staying there for a long time, buying would be good because you will be building equity.
House, less likely to be bothered with the noisy neighbours being too close and a back yard is always a bonus to have
nedkelly · 61-69, M

Plus no room for an inground swimming pool

House. I own my own home. I can do anything with it I like.
I can't do that with an apartment.
