I Am Trying to Find Happiness

I've been searching for happiness for quite sometime. I get so close to grasping what I truly want only to watch it slip away. Only to be left more questions than before. I've been suddenly left behind with no real reason as to why. My latest so called relationship I had to walk away. He has no idea what he truly wants and I'm certain it's not me. Although he claims I'm his best friend. I fail to understand why I keep attracting so much uncertainty when all I want is to live simply, be happy and not alone in this world. Happiness is knowing where you stand with someone. Trusting them to show up and be a part of your life. Being loyal and faithful. Is it really that hard to love... To be truly happy? I guess so.

I use to think love was easy, you know when I was younger and knew everything. Now, I know it is not easy and I think sometimes its a matter of chance. So sorry your going through this, do hope it doesnt last long. On a side note, I read this somewhere, don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket. Best wishes to you, sweetie.

There is nothing easy about it. I understand when you are young it looks and maybe it was so easy to move on. Unfortunately for me not this time. Thank you for words. It helps to know I'm not entirely alone.

@Wildflower00: definitely not alone my friend, I would venture 90% of people are looking for it. Hugs.

Thank you... I hope we all find what ever it is we desire. :)

Thank you! Sometimes we need a small reminder that we are not entirely unhappy. :)

Agreed!

A cliche, but nonetheless, only you can make you happy. If someone in your life is creating negativity, then you're better off without them, pursue what you want and don't waste time on what you don't.

I agree and that is why I choose to walk away. I honestly do not have time to waste while someone my age figure's their life out. :) I know who I am and what I want. It's not unreasonable to expect the same from a potential partner. Thank you!
I think it is something that nearly each of us desire: to be loved and to be with someone who loves us, hopefully forever. As we become older, the number of available people lessens. And many people are filled with doubts, uncertainty, and baggage. Living simply is easy. Being happy is something that one develops and that comes from inside. Not from outside. The qualities you seek in a mate seem to be reasonable. I can only suggest to keep looking, stick to your standards, and try to be optimistic. Finding a suitable love can take a long time. Sounds like your head is on straight, girl. Develop yourself and he should come along when it is right. Good luck.

Thank you... I will continue to work on me and be happy with myself. It just gets hard sometimes. Then I get caught up in my own head.
@Wildflower00: It took me 2 years after I left an unhappy marriage of 3 decades, Wildflower, to find the love of my life. I knew I would find him on-line, but I was on EP, not on the right site. It is never too late. So do not over-think or fret too much. You deserve the best love. I know it is hard on you, but you do not want to settle. You are most welcome. :)

I don't think i will truly be happy myself. Reminds me of Thomas Jefferson quote:" life, liberty and PURSUIT of happiness".

I hope you find someone that doesnt leave you feeling uncertain how they feel. It's not too much to ask for.

Thank you me too. I'm just not about to lower my standards. I'm over the game playing. I've never been one to play for long. It got old long ago. :)

Someday's are better than others. I find I'm mostly happy just have missing piece. I believe in time this void will be filled. :)

Maybe... It's something to consider most definitely. I also need to relax. I was just lost in my head last night. It happens from time to time. :)
