What burns more calories? Half an hour of treadmill at a good pace or half hour of weights? Or is there little difference?

What you eat is what matters most.

@Peaceful I'm pretty happy with my intake at present.

@SW-User give me a day.

Treadmill, but as someone said a good diet helps a lot more.

I'd suggest going an hour on the treadmill once you get more used to it though.

I like to use my Nintendo Switch to play games or watch hulu while walking/jogging.

@TeirdalinFirefall Thanks. I have my Spotify playlist.🙂
I'm just getting a bit bored with the treadmill and want to tone more but then still want to burn the same calories. It's a balance I suppose.

@SW-User Cardio is still good for your heart either way, maybe a bit of both.

Depends on what intensity you have set the treadmill on and how much you are lifting. To get best results, you should do a combination of both. Cardio and resistance training. Muscles need fuel and they can cannibalize on fat hours after you have done the workout.

I don't know this stuff other than what I read, but I've read that it's best to do some weights to get the body going and then cardio for best results over either single one.

The cardio burns more, but the weights active some sort of booster to activate the process where it takes longer with just cardio, for it to know it's in burn Cal mode.

Also as someone else said intake has proven to be much more effective messure as the body adjust to workouts and make it harder to lose Cal doing the same thing over and over again

@SW-User Na, if you're goal is to weight less or have less calories, then your best bet is to intake less,. including drinks.

If your goal is to tone the body or improve fitness level then that's exercise stuff.

And the best way to burn calories is to shock the body in surprising it with exercise activities that get the heart rate up and the body isn't expecting... so mixing it up is best and using different muscles, but keeping that cardio going.

@Viper I'm actually happy with my current weight and proportion. I'm just getting bored with treadmill and want to spend time toning.
But I don't want to put on weight by not walking and running. And I don't want to eat less or differently.
I only have a certain amount of time to dedicate to training so can't really do more than I am timewise.
Thankyou for your input. Really appreciate it. Xx

@SW-User well do what makes you happy, as if you'll keep doing it, just make such it's both safe and face pace to get your body revved up!

I say mix it up until you fine something you like :)

Treadmill

Weights don't burn enough calories compared to cardio. Not even close actually.
SW-User
@midnightsun But better for toning obviously.

I keep my body guessing. Some days I just feel like running at 10km per hour on a treadmill for 20 minutes. Other days I just starve myself off carbs and walk 1-2 hours at the local seawalls.

@SW-User I do walks outside aside from my gym routine as well. But with Winter approaching that's not as appealing. 😫
Treadmill but if you lift weights you'll gain muscle which will burn more calories when you're sitting on your ass being lazy

@BeefySenpie 🤣🤣🤣
it's been proven that short intervals of exercise with relaxing between those sessions burn more calories

Running from the police. It sounds like you need to rob more banks.

Anything cardio tends to burn more calories
SW-User
