Anyone doing Keto and having success?

No, but that’s my fault. I started all over today.
Yes ... It works for me. I'm not OCD about it but eating stacks of veggies and proteins seems to keep me feeling full ...and the weight is slowly going ... drink lotsa water!

@DrawntoaDistance avocados and grassfed butter too.

Ghee is good also.

@Mbingh01 yes! Especially if you have dairy sensitivities.

My child's father is wildly successful with it, when he actually commits to it.

The second he has carbs though he gains.

I've been having success with intermittent fasting.
Mbingh01 · 61-69, F
@Starcrossed what is your fasting routine?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@Mbingh01 clean fast from after dinner, usually for 18-19 hours. My dinner times can vary, but I try to be done by 7pm, usually it's 6/630.

I try to go to 1pm before breaking fast. If I'm dizzy I'll eat earlier but that's rare. I drink black coffee or espresso shots in the morning until around noon. If I'm a little hungry I'll have a little pink Himalayan salt, but maybe only once a week. I drink plain unflavored carbonated water during my fasting.

During my eating window I try to lead with protein and eat two healthy meals, making sure I'm getting all my calories.

That sounds good. Thank you!
I started it like just under 2 weeks ago. I still do carbs before gym and after, in the form of a smoothie with some strawberries, blackberries, half and apple half a banana, pro powder. Then minimal carbs for the rest of my day. No other change in routine. Dropped like 6-8 lbs. Feel great. For me the not being hungry between meals is totally legit. Before I was hungry all the time no matter what.

@DrawntoaDistance so glad it's working and you are feeling better!
An awesome fast and dirty book about this stuff, why refined carbs suck is called eat bacon don’t jog
I’ll look that up. Thank you! @DrawntoaDistance

Yes, it was a slow process, for me I just dropped the carbs, the breads and pastas, about 3 months into all of a sudden lost a waist size, dropped from XL shirt down to large. Needed new clothes, the weight came off from all over my body.

2 plus years later, still maintaining the weight loss

@Mbingh01 keep going, don't do the one meal, starvation diets never work or are sustainable.

Keep the sweets out of the house if you can. Don't forget to get out and walk, I try to do 30 mins 4 or 5 times a week. Burn some calories.

You don't have to be perfect with it.

Thanks for the tips! I’m going to give it my best shot. I’ve got a lot to loose. I’m 62, so it’s harder to lose than when I was younger.

Yes. Very successful. I stumbled on it for a different reason and decided to try it out. I like it...a lot.
Mbingh01 · 61-69, F
@Peaceful I've been trying too. The best part I think is that you don't get hungry like on other diets.

@Mbingh01 I'm just glad I'm away from sugars and eating lots more veggies and getting really healthy again.

I used Atkins in the past and it was effective at first but it gets pretty boring. It is good to get some weight off fast.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
it works to loose it but it always gets back to you just got to take in fewer calories than you burn which is hard for many to do

A lady at our church is totally into Keto. She lost quite a few pounds. I could never give up carbs. Good luck to you.
