I Am Bipolar

These new meds seem to be kind of working, I'm a lot calmer and I'm not having constant anxiety attacks and [c=#BF0000]RAGE[/c] and insomnia and paranoia and all that fun shit you get on the high end, and I also haven't had a single migraine since I started taking it. But it's making me zoned out zombie and sleepy all the time, and I feel unfunny and uncreative. Bleah. Maybe I should back off a bit and try to find a happy medium because I don't really want to spend the rest of my life feeling like this.

🤗

That's fucking awful. Nothing like a choice between an endless number of mental health crises and the 'zombie brain' people can get from drugs.
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
@SW-User I hope you can find a way through them, just like Odysseus!
SW-User
@Mugin16 The most important thing is to be aware of your own state, otherwise you can't navigate and will come to ruin for sure.
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
@SW-User Indeed.
SW-User
How long have you been on the new meds? Maybe the side effects will decrease with time? I am really glad to hear you've found something that's helping. I know it's not easy!
@SW-User Oh sweetheart. I’m so sorry. You know, I totally get it. 🖤🤗
SW-User
@DarkHeaven You do, wonderful one, your courage is inspiring 🤗🦋
@SW-User I fight, but so do you. We each have our own rabbit hole, Alice. I love you CP. 🖤

Definitely a decision to discuss with your doctor.
SW-User
@DarkHeaven I'm not going to be reckless about it. I've still got lamotrigine underneath.
SW-User
@LyricalOne yeah, I guess I won't talk about my life anymore, my bad
@SW-User Okay *Big hugs*

My sister was Bipolar, bless her, and she had a diet which apparently helped her. I can remember some of her bad time, that and my brothers heavy asthma attacks. I did feel for them, all I ever got was broken limbs (soon mended).
Good luck on finding a relief, its out there somewhere.
Uncfred · 61-69, M
@SW-User Yea, and does it actually end, the thing is we seldom see what you feel and often don't react as we should.
SW-User
@Uncfred I never realized how opaque and hard to understand it is for other people until recently. That's a large part of why I talk about it on here, to try to demystify it.
Uncfred · 61-69, M
@SW-User These things ought to be addressed at school level, if people only knew how disruptive it is for you, then the none sufferers would be more supportive.

@DarkHeaven I really relate to that, and Control
@SW-User Same. 🖤🤗

I hope that your medicament helps you and that you can find that happy medium.

Anxiety attacks, rage, insomnia and paranoia - that sounds like my ex wife. :-( 😢
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
@SW-User It is indeed both for the person who suffers from it and the people around him/her.
SW-User
@Mugin16 The people around you can run, but it will be with you no matter where you go.
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
@SW-User Yes, I am aware of that.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
I feel you. I'm in the middle of switching antidepressants. Feeling the feels pretty hard at the moment. Its about finding a balance of pros and cons, effects vs side-effects. Talk to your doctor about making adjustments.
SW-User
@Dolimyte Yeah, I've got a lot of difficult decisions to make.
Onfire22 · 41-45, M
What is the new med your on if you don't mind my asking. (Can pm me if you don't want to post it publicly) I'm on 3 different meds now including lamotrigine which helps but doesn't seem to be enough.
SW-User
@Onfire22 Depakote (divalproex sodium). I'm on lamotrigine too, which also doesn't seem to be enough 😕
SW-User
SW-User
@SW-User at least there's something finally helping 🤗
SW-User
@SW-User exactly! Tough as nails Amazon!
SW-User
I hope you find that happy medium. But stay safe!
SW-User
@SW-User The only time I do this in an unsafe way is when I'm manic and dump the pills, but that hasn't happened in years. Otherwise, I've already worked this out with the doctors to adjust the dose dynamically.
🤗

Give it a little time, maybe once you've stabilised your creativity will return.
@InOtterWords Makes me just want to die sometimes. I really hate it.

@InOtterWords That’s sweet. My storm is never ending but at least I can see the sky sometimes now. 🦋🤗
