Are there two of " YOU" ?

As if to say... "My" "life". Or...I can't live.. with... myself. I and myself.

Two of you?

Ever consider that one might not be real?

But, what if they are real??? We made our identities to help us to deal with trauma so terrible that we couldn't deal with them and now, we have to live with them all instead of living with the trauma itself.

I don't know how many there are - but there are more than three of us.

@HootyTheNightOwl Totally get it. Absolutely. Characters consistent with those factors of our character we just can't bring to the surface. But may I suggest that in the end there remains only one of us. For me personally, embracing her..me...it...has been my salvation.

@HootyTheNightOwl Wow! True and profound. I know the psychiatric community of counsellors are starting to shift in their approach too. It used to be that if you were an addict, you couldn't be considered for mental illness issues, like: drinking and drug use precludes you from a bi-polar diagnosis
@atlantic59 Yep... worse still, drinking and drugs are often symptoms of mental illness as the mentally ill drink and take drugs in an attempt to drown out other symptoms that they experience.

@HootyTheNightOwl Which always seemed to obvious to me
@atlantic59 You and everyone else who is suffering from illnesses like this - just a shame that the professionals are so far behind everyone else with all this.
