I Hate My Life Right Now

As of today I'm homeless. Wish I was joking. Nothing ever lasts.

Homeless with an Internet connection... ingenious.
SW-User
@MarkPaul public Wifi or cellphone data maybe?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User Yeah, most likely. It's ingenious though... home is where you connect to the Internet.
SW-User
@MarkPaul Not anymore necessarily
Mona86 · C
@SW-User how does he charge and recharge his phone?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User If you have a place to connect, you have a home. If you have a home, you are not (really) homeless. Problem eliminated.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Mona86 Yeah, that's kind of my point.
Mona86 · C
@MarkPaul Mark, you were referring to him having an internet connection, you can connect to a wifi anywhere in the city district, also homeless doesn't necessarily mean he is penniless
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
@MarkPaul most have many misconceptions about homelessness. ..
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Mona86 So, in other words... it's not as bad as it seems for him. Let's summarize...

1. He has an Internet connection. That's a big win.
2. He can connect to wifi in multiple places across the district. That gives him room to grow... and roam.
3. We don't know for sure, but he might not be penniless. That's a great relief.

Things are looking good.
SW-User
@Mona86 a public institution? A friends/family house?
SW-User
@MarkPaul that still doesn't address the issue of whether he is homeless or not. Homeless people may have data on their phones, or use a public/ private institution's WiFi. Those places will have a plug, for sure. Common sense dude
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User You keep missing my point. If you have an Internet connection, you have everything you need... so basically wherever you can connect, that's your home. This guy is going to be on easy street.
Mona86 · C
He can order food online@SW-User @MarkPaul
@MarkPaul Everything you need?......
Try 'warmth' - 'food'.......'staying dry' - 'somewhere to sleep'.....'safety'.......you think internet provides these?
You have evidently no understanding of the perils and hardships that face homeless people .........you don't know what 'cold' is........you don't understand true 'hunger'.........and you have NEVER been in fear of your safety.!
UNBELIEVEABLE !😠
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu What about receiving a kind word from a stranger on the Internet. Now that's warmth and warming. Safety...? What learning how to keep your packages safe from people who might steal them off your porch? Or, how to fix an AC? That's right... you can learn all those things, and more, right from the Internet. Somewhere to sleep... if you are engaged in stimulating conversation with people from around the world, all of a sudden sleep seems like a secondary concern, if it's a concern at all.

Are you sure you have an adequate understanding of the world?
@MarkPaul No dude.......perhaps not. But when you're homeless - words don't warm you when the temperature drops to freezing. Looking up how to keep your things safe on your porch?......umm "homeless !" - no porch !

How to fix an AC? - are you even hearing yourself ?

You REALLY don't get this ......you ask me If I understand the world - no I don't - I think the world is screwed up. But I DO know what it is to be homeless.

Your words may be poetic......but you're not getting the brutal reality of it.
You sit there in a warm spot, full belly.....all safe. Poetry don't fix this.

Have you EVER in your life gone a couple of weeks with only a few hours sleep each day.

Do you even know why the homeless sleep DURING the day ?

Feel free to question my understanding, but you are only showing your lack of it.

I know I sound mean, and I don't want to be. But if you only knew....and I mean REALLY KNEW ! what it was like - believe me - you would't be saying the things you do.

I my not understand the word - but I understand real life ...

Tell me, how you would stay warm when the temperature is near freezing, you've had an empty stomach for two days, and it's 1am in the morning on a dark wet city street ?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu Look... everyone has issues and the homeless do too. There is no doubt about it. But, there is something that is also called prioritization. And, if you're homeless and you are still posting here, then I feel comfortable saying being homeless is not that big of a deal to you.

And, for the record, you do sound mean... and like you have a chip on your shoulder.
@MarkPaul I'm sorry for sounding mean - and if I have chip on my shoulder - it because (and this will sound mean, but it's true), you don't know what you're talking about. A day in the life of being homeless varies so much. That person could be in a café, with $10 they just got from a stranger - a moment of comfort - and tonight they could be walking the streets.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu Why not use the time and the $10 to find a place to bed down for the night? Try prioritization instead of playing the victim. You have more control over your life then you are willing to give yourself credit.
@MarkPaul Prioritisation?......yeah I am - Food wins over a bed. Not playing the victim - surviving. You're talking about something you don't understand.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu I understand life, dude. And, I understand hard work. And, I understand there are consequences for our actions and inactions. You look down on $10. I say you can take that $10 and get a meal, a bed, and the start on a future if you are creative and industrious. Stop making it seem like the world is against you when you want everything handed to you.
@MarkPaulReally - you understand life? How did you get your job? Did you go to an interview in nice clothes all clean after having breakfast in a warm home?
Have you ever lost your job, your home? Have you ever been homeless ?

you are talking ideals (which are admiral)...but your don't know the hard knocks life can deal.

And I don't look down on $10 .....they're your words .
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu So, you know hard knocks. And, so you end up putting salt in your wounds, vowing revenge, and coming online to post your dissatisfaction with the world instead of getting back "out there" and fighting another day? I see what your problem is dude... and it's not the hard knocks of life.
@MarkPaul Actually - you presume so wrong . I have a job, a comfy home - and I have 'fought' for more things in my life than you know.
You are just making presumptions and getting cruel because you your 'knowledge' has been shown to be lacking.
I have seen your replies before - and this is what you do when your 'smart' comments are shown to have holes. and rather than have the grace to open your mind and learn - you dig your heels in, avoid answering the questions you're asked - and your words get meaner.
My dissatisfaction is with your dogged ignorance - not the world.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu You haven't asked any questions. And, I'm not saying I'm right about everything... but I am about this.
