Why are some people on the internet such a*holes? What do they get out of it?

@Bri89 I'd love to be able to test that theory. Maybe there's some kind of tick in my brain, but I genuinely find it difficult to imagine people wanting to be cruel on purpose. Intellectually I get it but in practice it's hard to connect with. Maybe they are acting out their shadow.

@okaybut they are fond of their own rhetoric, like our late lamented President. Whenever there was trouble, he repeated verbally and on Facebook and Twitter what had happened (as if we didn't already know) and then threaten us with the National Guard or troops.

than in real life; in real life. There are too many who are watching my indifference
and challenging me as on the internet and since they are such brave souls online
and attack me, I won't back down...some keep up the bravado until it turns inane
and I lose interest. 🥱
I'm much more enduring with idiots and aholes as you call them in real life maybe
because "they don't go there with me in real life; my sister is one...there is a
battle of the wits and some end up running away or wimpering that I was mean to them...but they are real souls to me; here, not so much. Some seem pretty thoughtless
and souless.
