I Love The Sauna

How do you feel about fancy modern saunas ? a new sauna center opend here here and we went to try it out. being used to traditional sauna i was quite amazed at the "new" stuff... liky a chrystal sauna, a coffee sauna, a hay and herbs sauna...

i am more of a traditionalist but my kids liked espcially the chrystal saunas a lot

My idea of a sauna is a Finnish sauna that I grew up with. No need for fancy stuff. Isn't the point to sweat anyway? --DW

its the room decorations, using herbs and aromas and in the case of the chrystal sauna they pour the water ona a heated chrystal, also they vary in temperatures... its really an experience

I don't think it gets that hot in the salt room. We require some sort of coverings to keep the space sanitary. At least that is our requirement. What actually happens when the door closes is something else.

@samueltyler2 rule number one of all saunas here: always carry a towel and sit on it... never sit with your naked butt on a bench

@UncoolMother good idea, but here we tend to be even more careful. We have no try saunas in our town, so I don't know what we would do if the policy was nude only.

So are these new saunas just have stuff heating over the coals? or whatever they use to heat them now?

@Pherick: in the chrystal sauna they are actually heating up a huge amythyst crystal where the pour on the water.. it looks rather nice, also the rooms are more fancy decorated not just your plain wooden benches. in the coffee sauna it actually smells like coffee and the herbs sauna it smells like freshly mowed lawn
