I had a clip on and I still refused to wear it. It always felt too constricting

@SW-User I don't blame you, clip ons look awful, and you can't do anything with them! They brought them in at my school, but luckily they did it the year after I left so I never had to wear one.
SW-User
@sarahinthecorner, they just made me feel incapable of breathing. So I refused. I got away with it tho

@SW-User I'm sure she has changed.
Do you ever see her? Tell her that we are wishing her well, if she seems to have lost her arrogance.

They crush your individuality 馃槧 At my old school girls only got to wear ties during my last year, so we did not have the chance to experiment like this.
SW-User
@TammieBear oh ok. Thanks

@TammieBear
No, it was only during my final year that girls in any part of the school could chose to wear ties.
I find it strange that you could choose to wear a tie. When I was at school we were all required to wear a school tie and could be severely punished for not wearing one "correctly". Given a choice, I doubt any of my peers would have opted to wear one. Thanks in part to equality legislation, men are dumping that silly, potentially dangerous, fashion accessory. For a while, schools started to abandon that type of stupidity too but now the new "academies" seem to be bringing it back. I've even heard of students being put in isolation or excluded for wearing the wrong colour socks!

@Sharon It was because of equality that we were given the option of wearing one, but boys did not have the option not to wear it 馃槙 I did not have one and I agree that it is superfluous and slightly dangerous as they were often used to tie smaller people up 馃檮
we wore a ribbon, no tie lol

@Dewms a ribbon? 馃憖
SW-User
No our tie was supposed to touch the skirt鈥檚 belt

School uniforms were too expensive. Most families in my town couldn't afford them. So the school didn't uphold it.
