I Had Or Have To Wear A School Uniform

@SW-User No, it was only during my final year that girls in any part of the school could chose to wear ties.

Probably because I am under 18.

@TammieBear I find it strange that you could choose to wear a tie. When I was at school we were all required to wear a school tie and could be severely punished for not wearing one "correctly". Given a choice, I doubt any of my peers would have opted to wear one. Thanks in part to equality legislation, men are dumping that silly, potentially dangerous, fashion accessory. For a while, schools started to abandon that type of stupidity too but now the new "academies" seem to be bringing it back. I've even heard of students being put in isolation or excluded for wearing the wrong colour socks!

@Sharon It was because of equality that we were given the option of wearing one, but boys did not have the option not to wear it I did not have one and I agree that it is superfluous and slightly dangerous as they were often used to tie smaller people up
