Evolution? Really? They say that the penguin fossil is 62 million years old. But if that is true why is it the same penguin as todays penguin?
A penguin is a penguin is a penguin, it might be big, it might be small, but it does not become a different animal or one cell, nope! Not possible! Nope! If we came from fish, then why is the penquin the same penguin for "65 million" years! The earth is young and God made the species the species they are now 6000 years ago with a few variations. But we did not come from fish! If you say we did then where did the first cell come from?
@Bushranger there's a lot of research on my organism in particular but very few on studying the effects of microplastics on them. I'm hoping that we won't have to buy a special blender to get the plastics down to a certain size we need lol. i really haven't done as much literature review on this as i should
@crownedwithlaurel97 You'd best be getting to work on that. A good lit rev can make your life so much easier and certainly impresses your supervisors.
So you'll be raising your nematodes and feeding them microplastic? Sounds interesting. Depending on how much you need, old school with some very fine emery paper should do the trick. And will you be looking at any particular plastics, or a mix of the different types?
Hey, if I'm being a pain in the arse, just let me know. I have a tendency to go on a bit when I find something interesting.
he thinks a higher power of some sort must have put it in place. which is fair, that's kinda the view i have.
The problem there is that one then needs to explain where this higher power came from. Then explain why that explanation cannot simply be applied to the universe instead.
Just a quick google shows that these 'penguins' were substantially different from modern penguins.
That said you can have what are termed 'living fossils' where creatures have not substantially evolved but they're not common.
These "proto" penguins were about the size of living yellow-eyed penguins. They probably looked a bit like shags (cormorants), but had compressed and dense wing bones, allowing wings to be used to swim underwater. It is most unlikely that the Waimanu penguins could fly in air.
@Carazaa So all roughly 17 species of penguin existed in larger forms 65 million years ago? There's no difference between a little penguin and an emperor penguin? Yes, they are still penguins, but they differ considerably.
Many creatures that are alive today are the same, or with only limited change. For instance, crane flies are an ancient species, as are silverfish, dragon flies and crocodiles.. This is not at all unusual. I have not heard of penguins being that ancient, I'd be surprised, and would have to evaluate the evidence further before commenting on that, but it's pretty unlikely that its the same. .
@NortiusMaximus Are you kidding?? God said to the Jews I will scatter you all over the world and you will be hated in those countries and many of you will be killed! 70 years after Jesus died they were scattered and hated and Hitler and many others have killed them! That is very specific!
@NortiusMaximus He also said that he loves them and will bring them back to their own land in the last days. That is very specific. He said that Damascus and Syria, you came against my people and I will throw down your cities and you will not inhabit them and Damascus will be a heap of rubble. That is very specific!
Having investigated this.. it is not the same penguin as today's penguin. I am afraid you are mistaken there. There have been several species of ancient penguin found and are now extinct
