Evolution? Really? They say that the penguin fossil is 62 million years old. But if that is true why is it the same penguin as todays penguin?

A penguin is a penguin is a penguin, it might be big, it might be small, but it does not become a different animal or one cell, nope! Not possible! Nope! If we came from fish, then why is the penquin the same penguin for "65 million" years! The earth is young and God made the species the species they are now 6000 years ago with a few variations. But we did not come from fish! If you say we did then where did the first cell come from?

It’s rather like when a 4 year old tries to explain nuclear physics
Carazaa · F
@JoeyFoxx 👍 You explain it then, why is the penguin and the crab the same but we came from fish?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Carazaa The dominance of the crab and his shark buddies drove our fish ancestors onto land in search of easier grub. We're still afraid to get in the water to this day.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Given that life originated in the oceans, it's fair to say that all life evolved from marine organisms.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Carazaa shall I start with remedial biology?
Carazaa · F
@JoeyFoxx You can take that up with Dr. Francis Collins, The most distinguished Scientist in the world, a Christian, a Creationist, and the President of the Human genome project, a nuclear scientist!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa You mean the Dr Francis Collins who
...rejected both Young Earth creationism and intelligent design....
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Collins#). Good choice.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger No he is a creationist and a christian.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Many creationists and born again christians are not sure of the age of the earth, and many believe that God can use change and adaptation of animals. But he is a nuclear scientist and a creationist and a Christian. Most successful scientists are Godly! My Dad was! I am!

@Carazaa hey i just had to read Dr. Collins' book and write several papers on him. he's a Christian but believes strongly in evolution. he says it himself in his book "The Language of God"
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa So you won't accept Wikipedia, how about Religions Wiki: https://religions.wiki/index.php/Francis_Collins

Dr Collins believes in theistic evolution, not creationism. Seriously, it doesn't take much to check these things. Perhaps you should consider doing so in future. You know, participate in a bit of research.
Carazaa · F
@crownedwithlaurel97 I just said that many Christian creationists believe in adaptation and are unsure of the age of the earth. He is one of them.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa You said he was a creationist.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@crownedwithlaurel97
hey i just had to read Dr. Collins' book
Was it a good read?
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger You just can't understand what I am talking about. All Christians are Creationists. Some believe that God used evolution. He is a born again Christian, who believes God created the world, and used evolution to create all the current animals. And I think he believes in an old earth like I said! He is not an atheist! I showed a long video 2 years ago how he was saved!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa
He opposes creationism and intelligent design, calling them unscientific
Quote from the previously cited Religions Wiki. Plus, you vacillate between saying evolution is false and doesn't work and God used evolution to create all the current animals. Isn't that in contradiction to the idea that God created everything in six days?
crownedwithlaurel97 · 26-30, F
@Bushranger it was a really good read! i highly recommend it. he tries to show how evolution and religion can go hand in hand. he uses his intellect to explain how it is obvious that evolutionary theory is the best guess for how we came to be after life on earth was found 4.1 billion years ago. but he also says that there must have been a higher power to put it into place. aka the theistic evolution belief. he's done a lot of research on every belief he holds
Carazaa · F
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@crownedwithlaurel97 Thanks for that. I'll look for a copy.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger He is a Christian! I have listened to him speak about God myself that he knows! I posted his video here. They lie on the web a lot!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa A theistic creation, not the deistic one in which you believe. I'm assuming, and I hope @crownedwithlaurel97 will correct me if I'm wrong, that Dr Collins doesn't believe in the creation accounts in Genesis.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger He believes God created the world!
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Im going to bed now! Good night.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa I have no doubt he is a Christian and I have absolutely no problem with that. So is Dr Schweitzer, another scientist who criticised the young earth creationists for trying to hijack her research.
crownedwithlaurel97 · 26-30, F
@Bushranger correct. he acknowledges that christians will use genesis 1 and genesis 2 to argue against evolution since it suggests that humans were the first to habitat earth, rather than tiny single celled organisms. it is of my understanding that you cannot believe in the literal interpretation of genesis while also believing that humans share a common ancestor with primates. therefore, Dr. Collins supports evolutionary theory but that God put it in place
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa
He believes God created the world!
But apparently not in the way described in Genesis, which you have stated on numerous occasions is historically and scientifically accurate.
