Evolution? Really? They say that the penguin fossil is 62 million years old. But if that is true why is it the same penguin as todays penguin?

A penguin is a penguin is a penguin, it might be big, it might be small, but it does not become a different animal or one cell, nope! Not possible! Nope! If we came from fish, then why is the penquin the same penguin for "65 million" years! The earth is young and God made the species the species they are now 6000 years ago with a few variations. But we did not come from fish! If you say we did then where did the first cell come from?

Some species evolve rapidly, some barely at all, such as sharks and crocodiles that have been around for over 200 million years
Carazaa · F
@Uachtarain See this is inconsistent!
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Carazaa It's perfectly consistent. Horseshoe Crabs were well-adapted to their environment 445 million years ago, and so they have remained.
Carazaa · F
@QuixoticSoul Nonsense!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Why is it nonsense?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Carazaa It makes perfect sense, and indeed it would be an issue for the theory of evolution if this was not so.
Carazaa · F
@QuixoticSoul Horseshoe crabs stayed horseshoe crabs, my point. How did one cell become a human being? And better question, how did nothing come from nothing? Where did the first life come from?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Carazaa
Horseshoe crabs stayed horseshoe crabs, my point.
Yes, because they are well adapted to their niche, and the last 400 million years only saw relatively minor changes - though you still see evolution, brachiation, etc - just less dramatic. Many of the species in the group are quite new.

The reasons why some species tend to stick around close to their archaic forms tend to do with a lack of selection pressure that forces more change - not every species deals with environmental changes, new competitors, etc - they just keep on keeping on.

The theory of evolution doesn't concern itself with that, that's outside of its scope.

@Carazaa Given your comments on various threads, I sincerely doubt you have any understanding of science.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger I know you can't follow, sorry about that! The problem is the "interpretation" of facts! 👍
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa LOL, what a joke.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa So what field is your science Master in? Come on, you felt it important to know my background, I want to know if you do have any sort of science background at all. Because you posts don't demonstrate one.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger I have 2 Masters Degrees actually, but that only proves I can think. A better question is what degrees and education do the creation scientists have? They have PHD's in Science! Dr. Lenox from Oxford, is an example. Dr. Francis Collins the President of the Human Genome Project. Are both Christians!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa And yet you show very little, if any, understanding of science. What field of science was your Master in?

Interestingly, you claim that people with actual PhDs don't know how to interpret data, but accept without question the claims of those who's biases are blatantly obvious.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger I have given references of top scientists in the entire world, who are all born again Christians!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa I don't care what a scientists beliefs are, provided they can separate their religious beliefs from their scientific endevours. Dr Mary Schweitzer is a good example of this.
Carazaa · F
@QuixoticSoul I think there are many problems but it is the popular view. And popular will get you research money at the university, and a Nobel prize nomination.
Uachtarain · 26-30, M
@Carazaa They may well be Christians, but are they Creationists? Evolution and religion are not mutually exclusive.
@Carazaa
Where did the first life come from?
Where did "god" come from?
Carazaa · F
@NortiusMaximus God explains that he is Spirit and eternal and everything that exists was created by Jesus! John 1 And everything we see will be destroyed by fire at the day of judgement one day and everything we don't see is eternal and very precious, like our souls.
@Carazaa We could simply say the universe and everything in it is eternal. No need to postulate a god at all.
Carazaa · F
@NortiusMaximus It had a beginning! And it comes to an end! The universe is NOT eternal!
@Carazaa The universe could be eternal, a "big bang" then a "big crunch" followed by another "big bang" and so on! Note the terminating exclamation mark to emphasize that I am stating an irrefutable fact!
Carazaa · F
@NortiusMaximus God is very clear that it is coming to an end in Mathew 24, and Daniel, Ezekiel, Mark, and Revelation, and even in the first sentence in the Bible. We are on a path, all the signs are here in the sky, and in the world for Jesus return any day.

@Carazaa People have being saying for thousands of years. We're still waiting. All the signs are that it will be a few billion years before the sun runs out of fuel and a lot longer before the universe comes to an end, if it ever does. Of course, there are a few stories about the end of the Earth or the Universe. It's quite a popular theme for film makers.
