When you were young...did you ever try to fake being sick, so you could stay home from school? 😂

My daughter once brought me a thermometer that said she had a temp of 112, and I told her she’d be dead and to go get dressed for school.

No. My mother was a school teacher and she was on to that stuff.

I always loved school. So, only once, when I was really nervous about a speech I had to give.
I did once and my parents told me they’d rather me just tell them I didn’t feel like going to school rather than lie about being sick because it was more troublesome. So if I didn’t feel like going one day I’d just stay home although it wasn’t a regular thing just once in a blue moon when I didn’t feel like going. I rarely missed school 🤷🏽‍♀️ School wasn’t bad for me.

@Stark I went to school in a big city and I hated it, lol. I tried to fake being sick numerous times.

No I have never been good at it so I knew mom would see right through it
Lol, no...I strived (in vain) for annual perfect attendance.🤓
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@AnonymouslyYours I graduated with 3 people that had perfect attendance from kindergarten to 12th grade graduation.

I faked the measles (in phone conversations with my middle school). My mother and step-father were both at work before and after I was in school. I had a rather deep voice and got away with it....for a time. Was caught and paid for it.

I actually did it twice at ages 9 and 12 😅. The first time it worked, second time it worked at first, but my parents found out and I got in big trouble 😂.

I remember once in 2nd grade, I chewed on a bunch of food then gathered all my saliva and coughed it out in front of everyone just so I could go home. Good times.

So often I had to get doctors notes every time.
Dropped out when I hit 18 and got my GED the next week or so; graduated before any of my friends. lol
I liked school. My anxiety usually had my stomach in knots on the first day through most of grade. It wasn't bad enough to warrant staying home though.

I don't remember but sometimes I didn't go and I was thrilled !

@royalblue1193 How lucky!
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Not really. I would play up feeling a little crummy though.
My mom would be like "go be sick at school" . lol
@DarlingSelah 🙂 Typical parent!

Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
Every morning just about I’d lie still & quiet under my blankets in hopes my parents would forget me. One day they actually did 😏
