@curiosi In public, which this is, I watch my P's and Q's. I see some profiles here and wonder what type of life they actually live. Is my profile too clean, if that is possible?
Well, the decline in COVID-19 cases started on the 10th, so it shouldn't be that. The vaccine is probably playing a role, but IDK if it can account for all of it because the drop has been enormous. I kind of wonder if there've been some state laws passed in January that were effective in slowing the spread. I also kinda imagine that New Years celebrations ending put a damper on the virus's spread but that's extremely speculative, of course.
@SW-User I mean, in some states significant chunks of the population -- 5.7% in West Virginia -- are fully vaccinated, presumably the most high-risk ppl like healthcare workers. I imagine the vaccine must've had a significant impact, I just don't think it's the main culprit
I went with "something else" because we had a recent drop in COVID in Canada and it had little to do with the draconian measures being taken. The vaccine stops a person from getting sick, or very sick from COVID but does nothing to stop the spread.
{@nightly do not know for certain but a president who gives a damn about reducing corona virus infections and deaths compared to the arrogant and lacklustre response to it from trump

@smiler2012 I believe that a fallout in Trump adoration may well have increased responsible concern for the toll covid is taking. It has to form part of the answer.
Start of herd immunity, more people getting vaccines, people getting smarter, the dumb ones died or wised up after getting it and...............the fake news is trying to make Biden look good because they sure as hell won't do anything to make him look bad.
@CanadianTraveller Not very bright are you. I put that in as you didn't have them as options. But you are Canadian so I suppose I have to forgive you as it is just typical for the frozen brain people up North.
Ebb and flow principle. Like anything else like this. Plus it is winter where people tend to naturally isolate by default.
SW-User
@MethDozer It could be winter. A similar drop happened in Canada. I sometimes wonder how often Americans are infecting Canadians. They like to illegally enter.
