Have you ever been stuck in an elevator?

How did you react?

I was in Los Angeles, once. I had flown out there to spend time with a lady I had met locally. She had moved to LA.
We were in an office building on the elevator. We got to our floor, but the door did not open. After a few seconds she looked at me with an expression of sheer terror on her face. Fortunately, just then, after making a dramatic pause, the door opened.

Maybe a couple minutes. One student worker got stuck all night, we went to clock out and he didn’t show up and we figured he’d gone to sleep on the job and we left without him. 😆He slept there all night and got free when the morning staff came & found the elevator not working & called the maintenance. That’s what he gets for hiding out and sleeping when he was supposed to be working.

@cherokeepatti That's funny.

No,but one of my first jobs was in an old hospital where one of the service elevators could be stopped between floors by yanking on the folding metal grille door...I would often do this to waste time and perhaps sneak a few puffs of weed.
Extensive graffiti,mostly centered around The Who,was also my lasting legacy there.

@ProfessorPlum77 Thanks for reminding me of a chapter from my misspent youth.
I ended up just clocking out one day and never returned,notified anyone or even cleaned out my locker.It was awkward at home when this eventually came to light,as my Mom was an RN there and got me the job in the first place,ostensibly to teach me some responsibilty...I would probably love that job today,heheh.
