I'm Tired of Being Rejected

A friend of 19 years is getting married tomorrow. I thought he was a close friend..

Guess who didn't get an invite?!
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Dont take it personal. I had a lot of close friends express anger or sadness because i didnt invite them but the truth is my husband and i both have big families and we just couldnt afford above a certain number. And there are rules to follow like if i invite one cousin i have to invite them all, plus their partners.

@Flenflyys yes, you should have. But maybe I'm not worthy of this lot, forget the loyalty and bailing out in tough times...
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Tell your friend then, but maybe wait until after the wedding. One friend actually never spoke to me again.
electropura · 31-35, M
@Flenflyys oh, I will Sunday! No doubt there.

Don't personalize it. If anything, have a heart-to-heart with him in a month or two, letting him know how you feel. Did he ever tell you about his wedding (or engagement) within the previous year? Sometimes, it's the total costs of venues, decorations, meals, photographers, DJ, and the list goes on. The more guests accommodated, the higher the costs. This happened to me once - a person I knew had to trim her reception guest list to save money. We're still on good terms on this very day. At the same time, it's most recommended to be in your right mind by then.

@DiamondPrincess89 Like I've already alluded to, it's the fact I wasn't even aware of the event happening until I found out on Facebook. I knew of the engagement but that was it. If I was told directly I wouldn't be invited for whatever reason, no doubt I'd be sad but I'd accept it and wouldn't bear a grudge. But apparently I wasn't worthy of that. Oh well, lesson learned.
DiamondPrincess89 · 31-35, F
Lesson learned. He did not have the courtesy to tell you. Bad move on his part. Anyways, keep your head up!
electropura · 31-35, M
@DiamondPrincess89 That's it. I know if the roles were reversed, I'd say so. But such is life.
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
At least you don't have to get them a wedding gift 🤷
electropura · 31-35, M
@dumpstermeow Yeah, they're charmed, they'll have plenty. And I save the little money I have...

I'm sorry that this happened.
electropura · 31-35, M
@SW-User Well. It's treated me badly so far, so it won't give me rewards. :)
SW-User
@electropura Never give up :) Put a beautiful smile on that face of yours and go out. Watching soccer in the pub, flirting with tha girls, starting a new hobby,...

Life can be a bitch but also fucking beautiful, I promise :)

Head up ;)
electropura · 31-35, M
@SW-User NEVER call it soccer! 😂😁
Andromeda224 · 26-30, M
"Guess who didn't get an invite?!", I'm guessing, Voldemort?
Andromeda224 · 26-30, M
@electropura I'm sorry
@SW-User I didn't know that Malfoy's name was different in the NL version until now.
electropura · 31-35, M
@Andromeda224 it's alright, I probably could've laughed more at a different time, but right now, it hurts a lot. I feel snubbed.
SW-User
@Andromeda224 oh it's Malfoy over there? It's Malfidus in the Dutch versions. Strange that those names are language dependent. But also logically. Americans probably can't pronounce Malfidus like over here in the EU.
Howdidulove · 46-50, M
Personally I would thank the guy, spare me the uncomfortable hang out in a suit time. Sorry you feel rejected, was it maybe just family?
electropura · 31-35, M
@Howdidulove No, friends are going too...
Well that sucks people who get married that young might stuggle
electropura · 31-35, M
@HelloHelloNde fuck them, their problem.
Some1Else · M
Blame it on the bride...
The groom's are helpless when it comes to guest lists.
electropura · 31-35, M
@Some1Else I blame him.

That bites...did you talk to your friend about it? What did he say?
